Not sure about 'online' but I made my breakhroughs into French came with the Michel Thomas sets.

The Pimsleur series is good and I think it is Castilian as opposed to Latin American Spanish and the Pimsleur series is better for the accent than the Michel Thomas series.

I can't speak for all of Spain but after two trips to Barcelona it's pretty damn high on my list. You've got awesome nightlife, you can pull any day of the week, and you have access to a lot of talent from many different countries.

100% subjective, I´ve been living in Barcelona for all 7 years, the local girls here (mostly ugly, but some cuties) are absolutely impossible to crack if you don't speak Catalan. Every lay I have had here including a LTR was with a non-spaniard, that doesn´t mean I have not tried, I have and loads, but especially here in BCN you will need to be beyond amazing to pull a local.

However there is a caveat, in the summer months, the city is flooded with top tier tang, however all foreigners.

By comparison, I was in Bucharest last weekend, connected with 3 girls (Tinder), went out with 2, fucked 1. all in 3 days.

Admittedly I haven't lived in Barcelona as long as you have, but I completely disagree with your views on Catalans.

I'm assuming you're Mexican so I'm really curious about your thoughts on this, it seems there are a lot of hard feelings between between a good portion of the Spanish population and Latin Americans. Stemming from the language (both sides claim the other speak like dogs), but in a city like big Barcelona there's also the immigration factor. In my experience Catalans look down on people from Latin America. Not in the same way they look down on immigrants from Africa, Asia, or Muslims but it is there. It seems to me it would be harder to game Catalans as someone of Latino origin vs. European, American Black or White.

Catalans are absolutely not impossible, it's true maybe a little bit more difficult than the typical Spanish bird from other regions. Everything stated about Spanish women in this threads applies to them. The thing I disagree most with is that it's a necessity to speak Catalan. Not true, adequate Spanish will do just find. In fact I'm thinking of some particular anecdotes that point to Catalan women, particularly the posh ones, not having a favorable view at all of foreigners who attempt to speak their language but the sample size is small.



It kind of goes without saying but the thing with Barcelona locals and Catalans in general is they're incredibly prideful. My advice for anyone dealing with Catalans is below.

1. Like with any other group of Spanish women, you have to possess a decent grasp of the Spanish language. If you don't know it, learn. Starting from zero it will take you 8 - 12 weeks to become adequately conversational. If you're fluent in Spanish and speak perfect English then you possess a unique status that's simply unattainable for most Catalans, one that they recognize and envy.

2. It's essential that you understand and appreciate Catalan identity. Having a little knowledge of Catalan history doesn't hurt either but it's far more important that you empathize with them and without overdoing it, show them.

3. You have to penetrate a social circle. When a Catalan vouches for you, you're golden amongst any other Catalan's in the circle.

Yea, I second The Strongest's opinion on Catalans. When I read 7 years and not one local girl I also thought what the hell? but it's true that being Latin American probably makes it harder.

Yea Catalan girls are harder than the other spanish girls (with the exception of Basque, those are the hardest) but not impossible, and you don't need Catalan. As a matter of fact I did a beginners course in Catalan because I already spoke fluent Spanish, and it was of no use, because with Catalan you either have to speak it fluently or don';t bother, and the thing is Catalan is something the Catalans use to speak among each other, to foreigners they'll speak spanish anyway, so you dont even get a chance to practice it. It would be more useful in the small Catalan towns where Catalan is widely spoken every day..

I had one night stands and short relatonships with Catalan girls I met online ( I lived in Barcelona for year and a half), however for anything longer term yea you need social circle, you need to be introduced , have common friends, which means have a settled life in Barcelona, work there and have thick skin, I dont really have much patience for it. Catalans are generally cold and similar to French people and I didnt like them much. Personally I found Barcelona to be kinda overrated and I'm a fan of Madrid (lived there for 5 years) or South of Spain.

I have been many times to Madrid for business, but nothing really called me to spend a cheeky weekend there.. Is it better than Barcelona for parties and pulling girls?

The Romanian girls that I spent time with said that they grew up on those terrible soap operas from Latin American and Mexico has loads of them.. - I don't like the looks of spanish girls so much...probably because they are similar to the italians....I like scandinavian and EE girls much more in terms of looks but I also dislike them for their personality.

The best of the best would be an ukrainian girl beauty with a spanish (or souther european) girl personality!!! Dream girl.

I can only speak for myself but I think being a Latin American actually helps at times. Keep in mind, I was born in Spain to Latin American students, left as a toddler, returned as an adult and naturalised. I'm Dominican and it's no secret that Dominicans in Spain don't have a very good reputation. At the very least, their reputation doesn't not appeal to the 'feminine market' I am interested in. Anyway, when I lived in Spain my nationality was generally well-received. Girls would often say 'You don't look/sound Dominican'. So, if you prove yourself to a 'good/posh Latin American' so-to-speak you could probably turn your Latin American-ness (I know that's not a word) into a positive thing.

My experience in Portugal is limited (I was only once and for few days) but last winter in a EE third tier city I picked up a portuguese girl (erasmus student). She wasn't particularly beautiful though she was bangable. The only problem was that she was a bit unfeminine and had some kilos she should have gotten rid of, although I couldn't say she was chubby. She was the glory of 18 years younger than me (but I lied on my age). Well, I've been in Spain a lot (maybe too much), and I can tell that behind the topic "guys have game/they don't" or "girls are easy/they aren't", surely some Sodom&Gomorah aspect is present in Spain culture. I still remember one day at 7am on a promenade along a beach in Andalusia, I was going to catch an early bus, and I see a guy on the sand, on his knees with a girl giving him blowjob... in plain view of every possible bystander (ok, not many due to the early hour)... Now these things happen everywhere, but spanish people have a particular attitude for this kind of things.... For example, there are so many nudist beaches... and in Ibiza you really can see any kind of sexual debauchery, although often from foreign tourists...
