Haha. I studied with a yoga teacher in the Bay Area who was a big follower of this guy's; she'd go on the retreats, etc. Her eyes lit up whenever she talked about him. I remember thinking "this guy must get unlimited ass."

Does anyone here actually do yoga? Is it actually beneficial to men in addition to weights? Or is it just a girl fad? What do you gain from it that you can't get from regular stretching exercises? I can read all the bs online. I want real first hand feedback.

I box and do yoga.

Yoga helps me with coordination, endurance and core strength. It helps train concentration and focus too. It's also great stretching and builds flexibility, lowering the chance of injury if you're doing other stuff.

I haven't done a lot of lifting so I can't speak to how it would complement that, but I think it would be beneficial almost no matter what kind of other workouts you do.

Finally, the views are better than at my testosterone heavy boxing gym

Awesome. Thank you. I found a place online that's down the street from me. They have a $25 unlimited sessions promotion for 1 week for newbies. There's a 6:15am class tomorrow I'll probably check out. It's Bikram Yoga. Says its a hot room over 100 degrees.

I used to do lots of stretching exercises when I was into martial arts years ago. I used to be able to do a full split. It would be cool to get back up to that point.

The physiological parallels between yoga and sex are interesting, but trivial in explaining why these gurus fuck so many girls. Not to get political, but the typical urban educated liberal has this obsessive aversion to recognizing any general patterns, to discerning any larger truths about how humans behave. It's a virtual constant among this class of people. The gurus are philanderers because they have a bevy of attractive groupies. Just like rockstars and celebrities. It could be a dude leading a knitting club and the same thing would happen, if the chicks were equally hot and 'spiritual' (read: DTF), and equally revering of their 'leader.'

Your mind likes to make associations between things. If you get burned by a hot pan on a stove when you're young you'll develope a fear of stoves. If you get bit by a dog you'll fear dogs. Did you ever see that episode of Seinfeld where George combines his love of sex and food? He's having sex and eating a sandwich at the same time. He gets aroused anytime he sees or smells something delicious after that. That's how it works. You can create associations like that in other people's minds using hypnosis. It's not hard to do.

The instructors are in a position of power over these women. The use their commanding voice to tell them what to do. The women get aroused by exercise and and all the hormones flowing. This all gets twisted together in their minds. They associate the man and sexual arousal. Easy Pickens. Can you say private lesson?
