Breitbart was pronounced dead at the UCLA Medical Center shortly after midnight, the Los Angeles County coroner's office told Yahoo News. The cause of death was not immediately known, a spokesman at the coroner's office said.

One of his websites, BigGovernment.com, announced his death early Thursday.

"Andrew passed away unexpectedly from natural causes shortly after midnight this morning in Los Angeles," the note on his website read. "We have lost a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a dear friend, a patriot and a happy warrior. Andrew lived boldly, so that we more timid souls would dare to live freely and fully, and fight for the fragile liberty he showed us how to love."

It's unclear what those natural causes were. A representative for the website did not immediately return a request for more information. According to the Associated Press, Breitbart collapsed while walking near his home in Brentwood. Paramedics could not revive him.

I'm not surprised. That dude was REALLY high strung. I actually thought it was going to be a suicide or OD, but a heart attack sounds plausible.

He probably ate a typical American diet of fast food and sugar water, that combined with working in the high stress field of politics would have been enough to do him in. Then again I wouldn't be surprised at all if he was assassinated.

LOL. Damn man, that is cold. I never liked him, but my homeboy fucking HATED Breitbart, in large part for what he did to Shirley Sherrod and what he helped do to ACORN. I was actually worried that if he ever found himself face to face with Breitbart that he would try to kill him. He sent me an email this morning titled "FUCK YEAHHH!!!!", with nothing more than a link to the news story about Breitbart's death, and links to these two videos:

The guy helped revolutionize how we consume news. For christ sakes, he was there with Matt Drudge in the beginning.

That sort of thing never surprises me. These screeching activists almost always have something superbly embarrassing to hide... Check out Neil Horsley, an anti-abortion activist from Georgia. A couple of years ago he admitted to fucking livestock on Alan Colmes' radio show.

I remember watching him a few weeks ago screaming "STOP RAPING PEOPLE!!!!" at the top of his lungs, over and over again at some OWS protesters. My first thought was "That dude needs to calm down, or he is going to give himself a stroke". I was close.
