Ok, I really, really suck at 'club game'.... I can pickup strippers and servers, but regular girls in the club, I can't even seem to approach most of the time.

None-the-less, I often get approached and their typical line is, "Hey has anyone told you that you look like celebrity X" or, you look like that guy in movie X, or "you look like a guy in the movies that I can't quite place who it is.".

You get the idea. Now, this celeb is fairly popular - but not quite leading star in most movies today - he's in a secondary role in a lot of them.

Any one with some 'ideas' of how to respond to get a conversation going? My 'dead-end' response is "Thanks", or another bad response I have used in the past is, "Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" (my celebrity look a like isn't exactly a young 'stud' star).

I had an attractive blonde give me the "hey, you look like ...." last night - and quite some time after my "thanks" (and she walked away) response I thought perhaps I could have said "hey, not so loud - if people find out I'm here, I'll be signing autographs all night".

Any other witty response you'd use in this case?

Hyperbolicly agree and amplify. Be over the top that way if she's dumb enough to believe it and you keep running with it, when the charade is up if she tries to call you a liar it'll have been obvious and she'll look like an idiot for not realizing it.

I look a lot like Dustin Hoffman. Every so often I'll get the old 'hey you look like someone famous' line.

My usual response is "I get that a lot...Dustin Hoffman", and go from there.

If she says 'yeah, that's it' there's an easy conversation starter. If she says 'no, that's not it' I'll say something outrageous like "Brad Pitt" and then she knows I'm fucking with her. Game on.

I get pegged all the time for a country music star, to the point of getting chased through airports. It really gets annoying. I do get the occasional bang, but feel like the numbers should be higher. The only thing I've come up with is:

Her: OMG, has anyone ever told you that you look like X?
Me: No. Does X turn you on?
Her: *giggles*, Um, yes!
Me: Well, this is as close as you're gonna get.

I've also made them lean I sing a couple lines in their ear, but I need help with other ideas when they open me. Thoughts?

Depends how famous they are. I get it fairly often with a very famous actor too. Unfortunately I don't live in the same country/have remotely similar accent to the actor. I have on occasion claimed to have not heard of the actor before which always leads to a funny playful conversation before I reveal that a I had heard of them. Another one may be to claim to be a distant relative again before revealing that it is not true. Alternatively try "Hah! I think you need to get your eyes checked, I obviously look like [someone completely different]"

I like Alibahba's suggestions though. May have to try that one.

I share my name with a popular and talentless hack on daytime television. He's part of a duo and is never seen without the other guy [insert heterosexual life partner quip here]
So whenever I introduce myself, someone always asks "Hey _____, where's ______ is he with you?"
Drives me nuts.
I like the stunt double line though. I might try incorporating it.

I sometimes get told I look like Brad Pitt. I don't see it in me but I reckon my dad looks like him.

Usually I'll act unimpressed while shushing her like a child and say something like "god I can't go anywhere can I".
