I read somewhere that the French are considered the worst (and this is not by Americans). The British have also been strong contenders. I hardly hit up tourist joints so I can't say from personal observations.

I myself may actually be the worlds worst tourist. I rep the states hard, fight the locals and rank on their beliefs and traditions. To add insult to injury I can outdrink them and steal their pussy.

I also pick fights with cabbies. Once I threw a suitcase off a balcony and hit the guy in the head and knocked him out. I've drained the freon out of their coolers on occasion as well.

It's really not my fault. I'm cool until they start shit with me. But they do. My last trip to the DR was the tamest I've ever taken

I'm a pretty ignorant tourist sometimes. I would rather see a hot naked girl than a hundred churches or monuments.
I'm more into natural beauty, volcanoes, mountains, ocean, forest, etc.

I'm British but cannot stand a certain element of our population when they are on holiday. Half of Europe has been ruined by our moronic stag weekender's,especially the EE cities served by Ryanair and Easyjet. Bunch of vile twats who make gaming foreign women harder in places they have ruined like Riga,Prague,Krakow. I do my best to avoid my countrymen when abroad at all costs.

I once owned a guest house in Rajasthan,India so I had to deal with every nationality. With out a doubt the worst were the Israelis. They have such a bad reputation on the sub continent that some hotels would not let them stay. I did have fun with some great Israeli women though.

The Russians are the worst hands down.They are the most aggressive I have ever seen.If you take bufet with Russians they will not leave anything to the rest.There are even advertisements now in countries like Holland where they advertise ''holidays where there are no Russians.''

That doesn't make you a bad tourist. I'm the same (so far). When I go on vacay, I just want to fcuk, hear some different languages and learn some natural shyt from the locals.

Americans are actually good tourists. Most hospitality people will tell you that and they are especially liked because we have a strong tipping culture.

The worst by far are Chinese.

The nicest I've seen are the Aussie's, Kiwi's and the Japanese.

I think some of the negative impressions of holidaying Russians by other nationalities is partly down to cultural misunderstandings. Russians sound quite abrasive when talking and are not quick to smile but are great people once you know them and are in their circle. I've made so many great Russian friends on my trips to Russia,friendships that are as strong and close as with my mates at home who I've known for years. If you are friends with a group of Russian guys it almost becomes their duty or honour to get you laid with one of their female friends. It has happened so often it must be a genetic compulsion they have. I've slept with a good few Russian women purely because a Russian mate has brought a female friend along on a night out for me to have fun with. To me they are a bunch of legends.

I also guess that the bad reviews they get on holiday is from fat Western women who hate the fact that their men sit by the pool drooling at the impossibly hot Russian women. Must be a slap in the ego.

Australians, French, British. They behave like pigs, drink excessively, are very loud and have no concept of personal space. Some of the worst tourists I've ever met were always from those nations. But I don't have any experience with Chinese (except one girl who made a very good impression... heh heh) and Israelis.

Can't speak to Israelis, but I've seen a fair amount of Chinese tourists and they tend to do everything that people find annoying about tourists. They're big on package tours, so you've got big self-contained groups rolling around in buses, eating at restaurants that cater to their tastes, taking pictures of anything and everything. Plus, China isn't a culture that's big on personal space or on forming lines.

Of course this doesn't mean that there aren't some Chinese people who don't do any of this stuff. I am sure there are plenty of Chinese people who are more traveler than tourist. By sheer numbers though, the world will soon be inundated by Chinese package tours.

They had an article a few years ago polling hotels, restaurants, and other places all across Europe to see who was the worst tourists in Europe.

Things they looked for:willingness to speak local language, willingness to try local food, tipping, dress, manners.

The three worst were Indian, French, and Chinese (don't remenber the order)

Americans scored well in trying language and food and tipping, but poorly in dress.

In my experience Israeli's are the least respectful to the locals of all the groups I have seen. A lot of it I would assume is they are fresh out of the military then travel to blow off some steam, probably have some aggression to work out.
