Bikers: Is it worth it?
I have an '06 749 that I dropped a while back. My bike is in the shop now and I got alot of gucci put on plus a new engine. The total sucks. Looking back I should have cut my losses and sold the bike for parts.

I got a 999 engine put in which had 500 miles on it and came with a two year warranty. They are offering me 999 fairings from a bike thats going thru a full blown track mod. Question is would you get the fairings for 2500? I think another option is getting some chinese made fairings for 1100. Havent looked at that route yet. Or I could get a paint job in Brownsville for less than 500. I doubt its real professional work. You get what you pay for. The real shit, 3 stage type job is over 1700. Last I could rock the battle scar haha. I would see the bike for another year but I would want my baby to look good for me. What you think?

If the damage is just aestethic and the bike works fine, wear those scratches like a badge.

^^

You need to come up with a badass story of how the scratches got there.

Change the shifter and any bent brackets that hold the tail or fairing then search ebay or whatever to find the stock pieces you need used in mint painted condition. 2500 no way.

I told them bump the new fairings. Thats money I could use on a future trip. Probably rock the scars. When people asked about it I normally tell them some stupid shit about the drop anyway. Real riders I tell them the sad story tho haha.

El I tried the ebay search and found nothing. Did find a link to that company for the 1100 full fairings on there tho. I've dropped 5k+ on mods and the engine. Picked up some rearsets and a shifter.

Fucking fairings man. What a crock a shit the prices these companies charge for a piece of plastic. Fuck new fairings.

Your bike looks almost exactly like the right side of mine.I was riding by myself on a hot saturday afternoon on a small country road in the middle of bumfuck egypt. All of a sudden a black toyota pulled right out in front of me, kicking up all sorts of rock and gravel behind it from the dirt road it was pulling out from. I evaded the truck but slid out on the gravel on the side of the road. Dude drove off like nothing happened. My phone was in my pants pocket and the screen cracked to shit from the force of the bike and my body laying down on it, so I couldnt call anyone because I couldnt see anything on the screen. My right leg was fucked, I could barely hobble on it. And I was there by myself in the middle of nowhere trying to get my bike back on the road with one good leg and a real pissed off attitude. I managed to get the wreck but on the road, and ride the final hour and half home. So yeah, rock those scars.

God'll prolly have me on some real strict shit

I found this and know it's the wrong one but just take your time and they will show up. Look everyday. They WILL show up.
