I'm sure the primary reason they wouldn't allow her on the bar was because they were afraid of her fat ass either damaging it, or her falling off and getting hurt, precipitating a lawsuit. They are trying to protect themselves legally, and she ends up suing them anyway. I'm hoping the judge that gets this one tosses it - it's baseless. The bar is within its rights to decide who can and can't dance on their bar, just like they can decide who gets in at all. Sometimes these judgments can be arbitrary, and yes, hurtful, but there was a legit concern in this case in having a behemoth bouncing around up there. And some of her "thinner" friends look mighty cornfed!

Anyone want to make an info-product on how to sue people for your being fat?

I swear there is a massive market and enough case history to write the damned thing.

Chapters include:

SUE a bar for being too fat to dance on a table.
SUE a bar for letting you dance on the table and hurt yourself.
SUE a restaurant for letting you order too much.
SUE a restaurant for not letting you order enough.

So on and so forth.

Of course it's discrimination. It's completely justified discrimination in the same sense that it's fine to discriminate against quadriplegics when you're hiring people for construction work. It is not in a bar's interest to let nasty-ass cows that nobody wants to see dance up on the bar, so they have a perfectly good reason not to allow it.
