This guy at a bar cockblocked me in a really annoying way, and I was trying to figure out what I should have done, but haven't come up with anything...

So I went to this dance club with this guy (not my friend) and a girl we were both interested in. He was dancing with her, and then I started dancing with her. We started getting in close and he could tell that I was moving in closer for a make out with her. Well he totally grabbed my arm and spun me around, pretending that I was his dance partner (just for a second). He caught me by total surprise. So not only did he move me out of the way (goal #1), but he also made me look weak (goal #2) and showed the girl that he was in control of the situation (goal #3).

Even now, I can't think of any responses that would have gotten me back in the game... any ideas?

How about if you played along and kept dancing with him until HE got uncomfortable, then went to your girl and said, "He couldn't keep up I guess."

It's always a risk to go out with a guy you don't know. I rather go out alone than without a trusted friend/wingman.

Never let anyone push you around. You should have held your ground when he tried to spin you, grabbed his hand and moved it off your arm and told him
"Hey dude, hands off the merchandise, this isn't that type of club, I think you want the club down the street, it's called the ManHole"
