I haven't been to NYC in a few years but I'm always suspicious of blanket statements like the OP. I understand if you lived there and you certainly have a frame of reference, but I'm curious, what was it like 10 years ago? Maybe what you're experiencing there applies to American urban cities in general?

I've had plenty of nights where I'm convinced that L.A. is a huge cock fest, and other nights, complete anomalies, where there is a glorious female heavy ratio. I don't know why it happens, but it's more about being at a certain time and place and trying to replicate those factors. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work...

NYC wins in logistics and volume. You can meet girls any day of the week, at almost any hour. Girls don't drive and neither do you. Doesn't matter if you fail, because you just keep going.

Word has gotten out? It's freaking NYC. Every single person on the planet wants to go for at least once. It's easy as fuck to get laid in the west village if you have some game and are suited up. Or grab a bottle with your friends at some club and just wave the girls to your table... or go to a shitty ass bar in the east village and pick up some hipster chicks... so many different options and they're all 5-10 minutes cab rides away coupled with rather very slutty girls. As a new yorker I can back this up, somewhat.



New York City is like pro wrestling - if you don't have a good gimmick then good skills might not even get you anywhere.

For example, you have your guys that are punk rockers, artists and musicians, that's a niche.
You have club promoters - they are GOLDEN at getting that 8+ slutty club girl ass AND making money from it.
You have rich guys who are the only other people, besides the promoters, that have access to the 8+ club sluts - that's a gimmick
You have guys like me - who exploit okcupid - that's a gimmick.

And this city is GOLDEN for daygame, but if you're a working man, then day game isnt really an option, and you're stuck at happy hours and sausage fest bars.

So yeah - GIMMICK.

Although i have recently started following some hipster Brooklyn scenes so i'll report back on that when i can.

Well if you must to be an artist or a club promoter in order to have a choice of hot chicks, that doesn't really make it a good place does it?
Good place in my book= If you are rather good looking and have game and you are not broke, you have good choice. Isn't that what a good place is?

That is not what I'm saying. I'm trying to break down the pros and cons.

Game moves faster in New York but the up-front hurdle is higher. Getting a girl's attention is hard (tight game needed) but once you're spending time with her there's not much resistance to putting out.

Add to that the sheer variety of the place which makes it easier for you to find your niche. Figuring out your niche (/ gimmick) and spending some time getting into it requires more up-front investment, more trial and error, higher tolerance for rejection and outright snotty attitudes than most other places I've been to.

This is a why it's difficult to do a generally applicable datasheet for NYC. It depends so much on your vibe and who you're going for and what your vibe is.

But once you're on a roll in NY it's rinse & repeat with a steady stream of fresh girls.

IMO, there is no cookie cutter method because everyone has different likes and dislikes and brings something different to the table. I started having sex at 13 in NYC and never needed a trick or gimmick to get laid. I prefer to be myself cause I'm happier that way. If a chic is not feeling my vibe, there will always be another and another ... the density/volume and stuff to do in NYC makes it virtually impossible not to get laid (like someone else said). Your biggest issue sometimes is not bedding drama queens or chics that will cause you more of a headache in the long run because of jealousy/baggage, etc.

You are an outlier and most likely a natural. I have a feeling that a lot of guys who say NYC is easy are naturals as well. I see your point. I guess I take certain things for granted. However, I still wouldn't call NYC a "cock festival." The punany is there, but it's up to each guy to figure out how to get it. Having good circles of friends and associates helps. NYC can be a tough place, in general, but once you find your grove, you can really get on a roll because of the density.

I find that NYC is very much a dice roll when it comes to girl/guy ratio. A given location can have bountiful poon one night, yet the exact same spot will be a cockfest one week later. The only consistency I've found is that weekends, with a few exceptions, turn into huge cock fests on weekends after 2:00 AM. The exceptions tend to be larger or more difficult to get into clubs*; Webster Hall, Kiss and Fly, etc.

*The big exception to this being Pacha which, while open to 6:00 or 7:00 AM, tends to turn into a super-gay sweaty cockfest around 2:30 AM. In contrast most other places turn into a sweaty cockfest- but at least you don't have guys squeezing your biceps or grabbing your ass if you're good looking......

I don't consider myself handsome so it's not about that. I'm 6ft2 and athletic, to answer your question. Also, I've seen ugly dudes pull a lot in NYC if they have the right "swag" and good convo. It's not always about looks.

I never know what a woman is thinking when she comes on to me or likes my flirting. There are enough women in NYC that you will eventually find your niche, so to speak. I find that I meet more women when I'm doing things I like and not sweating them.

Fuck that, That shit is for the birds. It took me almost 10 years to figure out that clubbing on the weekends in Manhattan in particular is a waste of my hard earned post tax income. Unless you rolling with the set(manager,Dj, promoter) and have some major DHV so you can differentiate yourself from the 100's of thristy striped shirt clad masses, you are going to go home alone to jerk off at 3am. I agree with the majority of this and believe the biggest factor here is number of approaches. The good and bad thing about NYC is they are very quick to judge. I went into one bar on lower east and had a few blow outs "wow you are really eye fucking me get out of here" and had the very next one making out within 15 minutes. Basically, if you have high approach anxiety and have a big ego that will be destroyed by being turned down, NYC is not for you.

On the other hand with decent game, finding the right venue and approaching like crazy... You'll be absolutely fine.

I disagree. This is like Mitt Romney saying that if you aren't yet a billionaire something is inherently wrong with you. We are talking about averages here. The average guy I see in Manhattan is dating a chick at his same rating or dating down.NYC isn't like Latin America, where you see local guys who look like trolls with cute little mamasitas. Once you step out into the outer boroughs, the disparity between attractiveness of the couple is so lopsided is not even funny. So with that said if you can't save up $100 a week to go out... You probably shouldn't be trying to pull in the big apple.

My definition of average man in NYC is $60K a year, living with roomates, out of college, has $400 to blow per month on drinks/whatever.

It's supposed to be an achievement to live in this city and an "honor" or "right of passage" to pay stupid money to live in a closet.
