Stereotypes Are Often Exagurated
I am realizing that many of the stereotypes out there are exaggerated.

Before I went to Medellin, I had read about all the prepagos (gold diggers/ semi-prostitues). So my first 2 days I was on the hyperactive alert. Every girl I met I was thinking "is she a prepago?". Well, by the end of my trip I dont think I actually met a single prepago.

Im here in Argentina right now, and everything I've read about Argentine guys says they're supposed to be aggressive players with direct alpha game. We'll might first night out i was rolling solo, and early in the night I met 2 cool Argentine guys. They were both good looking, and one of them was extremely good looking. I thought they might make good wingmen, and they would know the clubs better than I would, so I rolled with them most of the night. Anyway, I didn't see these guys approach a single girl. I would do an approach and at some point call them over to talk to the friends, and somehow they would fck it up every time. And its not just these 2 guys, I haven't really seen guys approaching a lot here.

Argentine girls are supposed to be passive. I definitely have seen some girls being really passive, not saying much, and just letting you do most of the talking like they are sitting their watching and judging you. But this was the minority. Most of the girls I've interacted with have been receptive and cooperative, contributing to the conversation and being friendly.

Some stereotypes are spot on. Like in Medellin there are many girls with fake tits. Cordoba has a very large number of young beautiful girls. Costs are cheap in Argentina. Etc. These stereotypes are not really a matter of opinion, I mean there's a lot of fake tits in Medellin, you cant really dispute that. Its not opinion, its fact, and its plainly visible.

But on issues that are more easily influenced by opinion and viewpoint, such as stereotypes involving personalities, there is a lot of room for exaggeration and opinion.

Yes, good point. Reminded me of good old rsd blueprint wisdom - a lot of this can be ascribed to self fulfilling prophecies.

Completely agree with the Medellin prepago stereotype being exaggerated. We probably approached 50 girls and not one asked us to buy them so much as a drink.

Can we blame Lumiere for the prepago stereotype? I learned that term from him I think. Smile

Bottom line is 90% of the guys of any culture will never approach. But the ones that I have seen do that in argentina are pretty aggressive. Same for brazil. Also your sample size is small... give it time and keep observing.

That's why they're called stereotypes. Anyway, you're finding out for yourself, what is, and what isn't.

As for Argentina, I haven't read/heard that Argentinean girls are passive that way, here or elsewhere. Roosh has written that they will not approach and if you go to Argentina, you better be ready to approach (a lot). And in my experience that is very much the case. Same with the girls being friendly, and cool once you've started a conversation. I never really heard, or expected otherwise.

We're all an experiment of one... you can think of it that way, too.

Yeah, thats the problem. Most of the travel advice/stories out there are based on small sample sizes by guys taking short trips. Plus (as beepopaloo mentioned) many of them have pre-existing ideas of what to expect which can lead to self fulfilling prophecies. In addition to that, each person is different. A tall blue eyed blond guy might tell you how peruvian girls are totally easy, and a darker hispanic looking guy will tell you Peruvian girls are difficult. There are just so many variables.

Overall, the advice/stories/stereotypes are useful, thats why we're all on the forum. But its just amazing to me how different people's experiences can be.

Yup, the more viewpoints that are shared, the more accurate of a picture we get. Thats one of the problems... There really are not that many guys traveling who also have enough game to be worth listening to. We on this forum are a rare breed Big Grin

There is a big element of anthropology involved in this: gaming+travel+reporting back on the findings.

And for sure it's important to develop solid critical thinking skills in order to filter out who's worth listening to or not.

Pretty small sample size. If you live there you develop a radar for them. A prepago-scope.

All you have to do is walk around gringo-landia (Poblado) and if you see an older non-colombian looking dude with a younger looking local chick in a restaurant, it's a prepago 90% of the time.
