I always wonder about that. A friend of mine has a history degree - he was telling me recently that one of the potential invasion plans involved landing in the Balkans, keeping the Russians in the East, and surprising the Germans by not landing on the well-defended French coast. Apparently, someone high in the American ranks vetoed the Balkan invasion, instead preferring the glory of liberating Paris.

I'm not sure how true any of that is, though.

I live on a busy street so the local fire dept. goes flying by lights and sirens blazing ten times daily, minimum. No big deal.

Damn it, I totally bitched out tonight! There were waaay more hot chicks out tonight than I've seen out in months, some legitimate 8's and 9's. Made one solid approach on an 8 and the chick seemed interested, but her friends dragged her off to another bar before I really got things going.
