Thumbs Up Christmas Hustling
So fellas ...Let's talk about products to buy and resell for profit this coming Christmas.

The Wii-U comes out soon and I plan on buying up a few of them and reselling for profit.
I did that with the original Wii and made a killing selling them on ebay and craigslist.
It's the only new game console coming out this year from what I hear.

iPad mini is also coming out this month. That should be another hot item to capitalize on.

What else is coming out for the holidays?

The iPhone 5 is still experiencing a huge shortage. If you're able to get your hands on a few that may be a good play since the demand is as strong as ever.

A longer timeframe than a quick xmas flip, but i suggest Mosin Nagant rifles. They cost about $150 each because the market is currently flooded. They are primed for increase.

I would love to jump on that but unfortunately I have a restraining order against me
from my ex and I'm unable to buy or own any firearms at the moment Dodgy
Lucky for her Laugh

I had to google that rifle. Looks like its some kinda old Russian sniper rifle?
Is that right?

RE: Christmas Hustling
I had some buddies who used to wait in line on black Friday to get stuff to re-sell.

I did some math, and once you divided their profit by the amount of time they spent in line, they made like under 10 bucks an hour.

And the line was full of really ghetto trashy people, so they couldn't even run game really.

So, for people thinking about that kind of a hustle, I advise against it

It's what the Russians used in WW2, yes. There are sniper versions which cost around $700, but i like the $150 infantry rifle which is the same thing less a scope. They have been stored in Russian arsenals ever since the war and have now flooded the markets. Once they are absorbed the price will rise. You used to be able to get SKS rifles for $100 in the late 90's. They sell for about $400 now.

These are good ideas.

New Apple products are always a safe bet. When they come out they are always in short supply because of so many Apple fanatics buy up the products.

I've been buying those since like 2004. The market was flooded to shit then, with the guns being about sixty bucks for good ones and the really awesome Finnish sniper mosins being maybe three hundred bucks?
You're going to have to bulk purchase these guns and keep them for a couple of years or more to see any profit. By the time that happens there's probably not going to be any ammo left.

With Russia recently 'discovering' a stockpile in the millions of them the market will be flooded for a while still and probably keep the prices about where they are. However, once those start to dry up watch the prices go the way of the SKS.

Also just for general products, directly ordering something from China and reselling on craigslist etc can earn a few extra bucks. Things such as tablets, watches, Insanity/ P90 etc. tradetang.com is a decent place to get started.

Not to be competition for you or whatever Wink but can you give more details on flipping the Wii/Wii-U? How much of a price increase did you use in the past, and any mistakes you made?

Oh sweet, I'll buy a couple of parts guns then. I have so much ammo it's not even funny. Great gun to do some serious plinking with. How did you find that the Russians recently discovered a stockpile of them?

Considering that only a few hundred of the Finnish Mosins were equipped with a scope, without seeing one I would say that a "Finnish sniper mosin" with that price is most likely a fake.

Finnish Defence Forces has also sold its stockpiles of Mosins along with Suomi KP/-31 submachine guns and pieces captured from the Red Army during the Second World War until the recent years.

My local gunshop was selling these Finnish M 28-30 rifles without scopes (some probably had scope mounts) for about 300 bucks. Not sure why you'd assume that Finnish sniper rifles were all equipped with scopes. I guess I figure that these were just Finnish battle rifles marketed as sniper rifles. Did not buy since the ammo is different.

I know that most of these Mosin "snipers" are just standard 91/30s assembled to capitalize on "Enemy at the Gates" (many of them that you can buy do not even have a bent bolt), but from what I understood they were assembling legit guns and fake scopes together.

If you can make a quick $100 profit per resell I'd say that's good. Buy from places like Walmart that have a 90 return policy. Always pay cash. If they don't sell in December you can always return it in January. You can't lose.

You can get more exposure on eBay but they take a percentage of the final price. If you sell on Craigslist you may have to deal with some shady people knocking on your door. Sell it with the receipt and tell them to return or exchange it if there is any problem. Like I said pay cash so there is no bullshit tied to your credit card.

Finns who were called "snipers" used only scoped rifles after the Winter War. They were soldiers assigned to sniper duty, although they were part of the regular infantry battalion during an offensive. There were a few marksmen who shot enemy soldiers from distances usually associated to snipers but were not called snipers and who used regular Mosins. For example, the regular conscript (like I was years ago) in the Finnish Defence Forces is taught to fire groupings of around 20-30 cm (8-12 in.) in diameter with an open sight RK-62, a Finnish license version of the AK-47, up to 150 meters (500 ft.) from prone position.
