Got invited to a concert of theirs this evening, departing shortly.

Anyone from the forum attending? This is my first house concert, not really sure what to expect. Assuming everyone will be drunk and high out of their mind? Our hotel is centrally located, I'll report back as the night progresses.

I don't know exactly what kind of venue you are going to, but here's a few tips on going to house/trance/electro partys:

There's a high chance everyone will be on Ecstasy or MDMA.

Girls on amphetamines get very energetic and lose their inhibitions. Their skin becomes highly sensitive and they tend to get very horny. Emotions also get very intense, so it's great if you can make them feel good, because they'll actually feel REALLY good.

My tip for you is: walk around and very gently and unpretensiously touch their upper arms or lower backs, as if you were walking and just wanted to pass by them. Do it slowly and very smoothly. If they're on amph, it'll feel amazing. Just check for the reaction and start talking, or if you feel the vibe is good, kiss right away.

Another good tactic is to get or to pretend to be very high, and very gently ask girls for hugs. Be sweet. Hug them very tightly. Sometimes that's more than enough to start something. If not, thank them, ask their name or whatever, and maybe you'll have another shot later. I've never been refused a hug.

Remember, the skin and the feeling are the keys. And look for dilated pupils as a sign of drug ingestion.

You should watch out for a few things:
- Drunks: often times not as pleasant, they get brave and pick fights.
- Chronic amphetamine users/cokeheads: paranoid, agressive, edgy.

Bring 
- Condoms
- Lighter (even if you don't smoke)
- Candy: Skittles, M&Ms, Wonka Nerds, lollipops, mints

Try not to get on anyone's way, and if you do, or bump into someone, immediately say you're sorry. GTFO if you think there will be trouble. Reading the environment is essential, specially if everyone's drugged. Don't push the envelope on other people and you'll have a great time.

In the US at least these raves have sort of transformed into what big rock concerts in the 90s were like rather than cool dance parties. Most of the crowd gets as close to the stage as possible to watch the DJ. Watching a couple dudes fuck around on their laptops is NOT exciting, so I don't know why this has happened. EDM raves used to be just all about dancing and shit, but now there's like a sea of several thousand people all crammed together as close as possible to the stage, which obviously precludes gaming and even dancing. If it's like this, linger in back where the cooler people are.
