Doctor Love on relationships
One of the first ever dating/gaming advice blogs I ever read was a guy writing under the name Doctor Love for Askmen.com. His method was specifically aimed at building relationships with American women. I think it's worth summarizing his advice here for those who have never read his material. The main points of his material were:

1. A woman interest level. When you meet a woman she will know immediately if her interest level in your is over 50%. If it's not you don't have a chance. So how do you know if it is? You ask her for her phone number and then you wait at least 5 days to call and ask her out. If she remembers you and accepts then her interest level is above 50%. Your next task to increase her interest level to the 90%+ mark. At 90-100% she will then be in love with you. How do you do this?

2. By demonstrating Confidence, Self-Control, and Challenge. Confidence we all know about. Self-Control is related to frame and not taking any kind of shit from her. Challenge is making her work for the relationship as much as you are. These three traits had to be carried into the relationship and maintained. If you didn't her interest level will start to fall and once it hits the 49% level, game over.

3. What kind of woman should be looking for? One with Integrity, Flexible, and Giving and of course has a high interest level in you.

4. In order to maintain a woman's interest level in you, you must provide her with three things: Respect, Affection, and Romance but not too much. These are her reward for being a good girlfriend not the incentive to be one.

The main reason he thought most relationships goes South is because the man stopped showing self-control and being a challenge once in the relationship which causes the woman's interest level to drop. The other point he makes is that a woman's interest level is revealed by her actions. All in all, I think it's worthwhile stuff to look at for those more interested in a relationship. I think this part is definitely dated material. You really need to be going for the same night lay, otherwise too many other guys are going to be hitting her up while you wait five days. This guy was writing long before smartphones.

RE: Doctor Love on relationships
It all depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for a SNL then the type of woman you are looking for is different than what he is suggesting for a relationship. And if a woman forgets about you after 5 days then you didn't make a strong enough impression on her, smartphones or no smartphones, and it basically doesn't matter. Do you forget a girl you are really interested in after 5 days?

RE: Doctor Love on relationships
I've known about Doc Love forever. I'm actually planning an article for RoK on Doc Love; he's the father of relationship game.

However, his wait 5 days until you call her is definitely dated. Furthermore he's specified in many of his letters from readers that waiting 5 days doesn't work on younger women.

What's the point of running game if all you get are old hags? Doc Love says his game works best on women who are ready to settle down, which is a bunch of shit since settling with some old aging hag isn't going to bring you happiness.

That said, he has a lot of wisdom and I'll probably post Doc Love either the 8th or 15th with an in-depth analysis.

@samseau I basically agree with your assessment. I usually don't wait 5 days but a lot of his stuff is still very relevant. One of the things he used to emphasis was getting a girl's "home phone" number instead of her mobile. Today, many people like me, don't even have a home phone.

It's cool that many guys here know about Doc Love. I used to follow him before RVF and started off my Game foundation based on his principles. While I agree some of his material is dated, the man knows his stuff and is on point for the most part, after all he's been doing what he does for over 40 yrs. If you ignore the home phone advice, keep in mind that her interest level cuts everything and very slightly modify his principles to apply to the present day and combine it with the player wisdom presented in this forum, you'll be one deadly playboy.

I remember that thread. First time I read it was a few days after the original post- spot on in my opinion. As for who you had in mind when writing it, I suspected Doc Love was the influence behind it. He's the only guy out there who's main focus is on relationships instead of SNL's.

Naw there's actually a ton of guys like Doc Love... but Doc Love had the tightest game out of the relationship couches out there. He was also one of the earliest relationship game coaches, which is why my ROK post will be titled "Meet the Father of Relationship Game: Doc Love"

Sometimes, I text same day. Sometimes, I text next day.

Sometimes, I wait 72 hours, sometimes, I wait a week or more. It all depends on the first interaction, the momentum created, the emotional connection (if any), etc.

I have had success recently calling after 5 days..

How many days are you guys waiting to call or text?

Honestly depends how I feel and how busy I am now.

I recently called a girl after 4 days and she told me she didn't think I would call her.

I really couldn't care either way if the girl responds, I think they pickup on this.

Remember reading him when I was 18yo lol. His stuff is solid although some is dated and is more geared for a relationship then getting the bang. Worth reading though.

When we exchange numbers I usually try to ask them when a good time to call would be. This seems to help since they know when the call is coming and can build some excitement for it, along with also being more prepared to talk to you (several women have told me they ignored a call b/c they weren't ready to have a potentially awkward chat at that moment or were unprepared/preoccupied)

Some of his stuff is outdated, some was just straight up wrong (much like Mystery), but he'll always have my respect as a pioneer - He was the guy that first unplugged me from the Matrix.

Mystery believed that you shouldn't try to bang someone on the first night, he called it Fool's Mate. Nowadays, what he called a mistake is almost mandatory.

Just goes to show you, no matter how brilliant the guru you're learning from, odds are there are at least couple things he's wrong about, and the importance of remaining a free thinker.

He said it took 7 hours on average to get the bang, he said newbies needed to game 5-7 nights per week, he said that a man should use routines (which are hardly necessary), his advice on building comfort was pretty bad, and he had almost nothing to say about fucking the woman once you got in her bedroom except persistence and using "freeze-outs" (totally withdrawing attention from the girl if she refuses to fuck).

They were not technically wrong. It's just that our culture and women has changed since these guys developed their material.

I once met a dude so brainwashed by the 'PUA' advice that he waited for 3 hours with the girl on his bed because "the 7 hours where not up yet"

Right, but at lot of these guys didn't realize how relative game is to a culture.
