Hi everybody! I'm thinking in moving and live in the UK the following year,mostly to improve my english immersing myself .

Once I can understand english easily I want to find job in a gym or as a personal trainer

I'd like to live in a city with these caracteristicas:

-Low prices to rent an apartment(low prices in general)

-High % of young population(to practice day game and sometimes night game)

-Low crime rates

which cities would you recommend me to establish there?

For anyone who is still living in the UK..¿which is your medium cost of living?

London has a high % of young population and is probably the best place to day game, obviously due to the size of the city and its contribution to the economy, crime is not low lol.

There are some good cities with university populations where it would not be that expensive to live I guess, Sheffield, Nottingham to name two (Nottingham used to have a 70%-30% female male ratio at it's universities)

If i were you i would move to Leeds or Nottingham. People there are way more friendly and is easier for you to fuck lots of girls.

Hola! Yeah Leeds has a huge student population and a lively vibe. For a nicer climate you could think about Bristol. Or on the south coast, Bournemouth - tons of international chicks studying English there, including Spaniards if you feel like a bit of home comfort Colombianas too.

Cost of living? How much do you want to do? Rent, at least £300 a month outside London. Food, alcohol and transport are all expensive compared with Spain.

Bournemouth is lovely but pretty expensive (seaside + JP Morgan back office).

I live in Bristol, and the ratio is ok. Nothing off the charts, some really pretty womenz but the majority is pretty average (to be polite to the host country - I originally come from Russia), generally low prices & reasonable nightlife (no proper house dance venues, but D'n'B & dubstep are somewhat popular around) + a few universities. On the negative side, rugby is quite common in the South & Wales, so you can sometimes see sausage fests & dumb drunk meatheads picking up a fight. Also, I've once ran into a Spanish-speaking people gathering at a really nice pub. I would assume the same holds true for Cardiff.

Can't vouch for the North, I've only been to Manchester (horrible weather, always (I mean it) rains) & Sheffield (ok womenz, but a super-generic city, just like Reading). London experience is hugely affected by your lifestyle & money.

leeds, liverpool, nottingham, leicester, bristol, brighton, ... are all decent places

by actually living in london and going to second tier cities on weekends i was doing the best while back in the UK

weekends in industrial second tier places were my goldmines! had a good buddy in ipswich. logistics wasn't a problem as the dude had a massive house and the house was a pimp with tons of amenities. i was banging like there is no tomorrow. bargame mostly

a lot depends on your age, style, bankroll, attitude, preferences, ...

I was going to say these exact two. Leeds has a huge student population and its an awesome night out. Should be considerably cheaper than other big cities (Birmingham, Manchester, London)

Bournemouth is a huge destination for people studying english. If you want to immerse yourself maybe this isn't the right place to do so since you will be tempted to speak spanish quite a bit. England is expensive in general, much more so than Spain. Be prepared to pay at least £300 per month for suitable lodgings like Acute said.

in wich period of time did u go to Manchester? (because of the opinion you have of the bad teather)

Once I choose the city I will find an appartment with great logistics,I don't mind the price ,I don't want any kind of luxurious thing..simply humble..

para alquilar una pieza en londres necesitas como 120-200 libras la semana. precios de transito publico matan tambien

I can recommend Bristol, it has a large population of young spanish people here to party and more coming all the time. Much cheaper and more chilled than London but great party scene, clubs drugs etc. Only an hour and a half from London Two big universities so the city is dominated by students, a young, fun place to be. Although I've noticed the Spanish don't mingle that much.

You are "thinking" of moving or you are going to move. What happened to the other countries you were debating, Hungary, Lithuania and Germany I believe?

Why not visit these countries before you make a decision? Do you know anyone in the UK? Sure Leeds maybe cheap but I would not live there, same with Bristol.

Have you also thought about how much personal trainers make and what the demand is for them.

I will move sooner or later to the UK,because I have to improve my english and get an anvance level..

at the end of august if everything is OK I will go to Lithuania to study a whole year.

I'm not English, but have travelled a lot to the UK, including Bradford, though I was there for just a day. Not to sound like a fearmonger, but I have been told that it is a place with high crime rates and lots of social tension. Can anyone from Britain confirm this?

I'm sure it's possible to live perfectly fine there, but I think there are better choices in the UK. Have you considered Newcastle? I hear they have a great nightlife there. Personally, I like London and Bournemouth.

I have lived in Leeds (4 years), Bradford (9 years), near Bristol (7 years) and in Bournemouth (just a few months). Bradford is the worst of the lot, a run-down old wool town, full of social tensions between the whites and the Pakistanis. Accommodation there is cheap - you could have your own place for £300 a month, probably. In the other locations you're looking at a room in a shared house for that money.

Depends on your budget.

I've lived in most places in England. Second tier are basically good, but your budget will affect which one to go to, with the South-most being more expensive: Bristol, Birmingham, then Manchester + Liverpool and then Newcastle being the most bang for your buck.

I'd look at Manchester/Liverpool if I had no ties to particular places for work - the two are practically next to each other and both have, from my experience, pretty good women and loads of interesting stuff to do.

If you wanted to go to to smaller than that but be assured of lots of girls, then look up Uni lists - a lot of cities might only have 50-100,000 people but during term time the population is a wash. Places like Leicester, Sheffield, Leeds etc. A lot of them are close together as well, like with Manchester/Liverpool. For instance, Nottingham is near Leicester is near Loughborough is near Birmingham. Sheffield, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool are all a short train journey away.

I think, overall, Manchester is the best bet.
- Low cost of living compared with other major cities.
- Huge student body.
- Big party place and one of the 6 or so places major artists tour to. Also has its own 'scene.'


Note: Newcastle, from what I've heard, is like this. I've never been and I'd be put off by the distance if I had to choose one. Living there rules out day trips to the other places whereas most of them aren't that far apart.

Bradford is known as one of the biggest crap holes in England, this is a list that includes the likes of Luton and Corby, for Bradford to beat those dumps is quite an achievement. Liverpool is good nice friendly girls and friendly locals, personally not a fan of Manchester too many arseholes. Leeds and Sheffield and Newcastle are all good choices, London is really for those with cash as on a budget you will be living pretty far from anywhere good. Brighton is probably the best bet in the south its a party town in the summer but it is the gay capital of England.

Agree about Manchester, I hate the place, I find a lot of the people there to have a real chip on their shoulder for some reason. Don't find that in Liverpool. And Manchester must be the home of the worst dressed people in the UK, shockingly bad.

Bradford is horrible.

Go to Manchester, reasonably priced accommodation, large city, probably the best outside of London in my opinion.

There is also a huge student population with plenty of women. Just 2 hours on the train from London.

Nottingham has not been mentioned, but is also a fun city if you're a youg student. But during the summer when the students leave its noy very busy.

Manchester has the worst dressed people? Have you actually spent some reasonable time in the city or is that another generalisation based on zero experience there?

Keep in mind this guy has never been to the UK and is coming from Spain, it will be cultural shock for him. With spanish/english skills I would not head to the UK (born there btw) I would stick with continental Europe.

As for Bradford, I would not even fly over it never mind visiting/living there.

why do u think It will be cultural shock for me? I want to learn english ,so..UK is the best option in Europe XD
