Facebook makes you miserable. News at 11
Facebook = Miserable

Studies are starting to be conducted on social networking and are coming up with conclusions that should be no surprise to the guys on this forum. The younger generation(12-20) has spent their entire postpubescent lives on facebook. I know of girls as young as 13 attention whoring by posting suggestive pictures of themselves on these sites, eliciting a flurry of likes and comments like "Hot!" and "Sexy mama" from dweeby looking guys and the other members of their respective knitting circles. The effects of being glued to a computer/cell phone for more than 10% of your entire waking life are unknown right now but probably include depression, anxiety and the other side effects that are the symptom of any addiction. The study focuses on people comparing their lives to their friends. If a girl watches tv and sees glamorous people doing glamorous things she is more likely to be dissatisfied with her own situation. Likewise facebook stalking acquaintances will bring a girl into contact with a carefully sculpted profile that shows only the most glamourous or exciting moments of other peoples lives.

America already produces girls who can't cook, can't keep themselves skinny, have too much self esteem and are miserable. Hopefully there will be a backlash against this insanity soon.

I posted a little blurb about this under the "Travel Hate" thread. Posting your travel pics supposedly prompts misery among those that can't or won't do the same.

RE: Facebook makes you miserable. News at 11
I recently deactivated my Facebook account, mainly because I was talking to a couple great sweet girls who kept calling me a player and calling me trouble, but at the same time calling me 'a nice guy'. This was due to them checking my Facebook pictures and timeline and seeing other girls posting on my shit, so they felt like I was playing them like every other girl. And you know how they say girls love players? Well this time it did not work out in my favor. Both girls lost interest/attraction because they were both the sweet girl values relationship type, and my Facebook reassured them of my 'player' mentality. So both peaced out.

I must say, the first few days or so without Facebook are a little bit tough. But after a couple weeks you just forget about it.

Not having Facebook may help in terms of game (when a girl thinks about you or wonders about you, instead of checking your Facebook she is forced to actually contact you). But I also feel like it has held me back a little. I used to randomly strike up convos on Facebook with girls I haven't seen in a while, or would get a random HBB to comment on a picture which would lead us to talking again, etc.
