I think I'm taking a different approach here, I accept a friend request from pretty much anyone on Facebook. I get girls commenting on my pictures and posts and stuff, and when ever another girl asks I just say she's a friend/Spanish tutor/coworker etc. If she keeps asking I pretty much tell her to not believe me, I don't really care. Don't lose frame and be beta.

The privacy setting like several people mentioned should be configured to help you. I have it so only I can post on my timeline, and that things only appear on my timeline that I'm tagged in once I approve. As far as other girls commenting, I believe that it overall helps since it shows you have some value to girls. Girls are mad jealous and I think you can leverage this.

Not sure whether this is the right thread to post this in but it's relevant to the title at least.

In the past I've only added people I've met, but this week I saw a really cute girl on a facebook event I was invited to (no mutual friends) and since I couldn't make it I thought I'd just add her and see if I can make anything happen with her. She accepted the friend request. I sent her a message saying we'd both been invited to the same event and thought I'd add her. We go the same university but she is an exchange student.

She wrote 'Aha - I was a bit confused haha, I couldn't make it [to the event] either'

Then I said how I could show her around Melbourne (she's from Europe). She saw the message and didn't respond, but neither has she defriended me.

I expect that I should have tried to build more comfort before inviting her out, I often make the same mistake (on dating apps) because I'm impatient and hate messaging, and also I find it much easier to build comfort in person than online...

What should I do now? Should I just give up on her, or should I wait a few days/weeks and try to reopen? If so what should I say? How many message should I exchange with her before inviting her out again?

Man I've been talking to a couple friends of my lately who are younger cats and have like 5k friends on FB, 4.9k of them they have never met before but just added because they had mutual friends. They told me they just like a few pics or see girls liking a few of their pics/posts and then they cold message them and end up setting up dates via FB message and banging. I've done this with mutual friends before in the past but only a couple times but seems asy as fuck if you FB is relatively DHV.

There's a new wrinkle to this - they may get added whether they want to or not, via the People You May Know feature:

If you don't really give a F about your reputation, you can put up pictures with hot girls and use them as a pre-selection and DHV.
