Tourstiness of a place heat map by number of public photos
This is FUCKING BRILLIANT!!! Great way to get a cursory overview of how "touristy" or popular a place is based on the number of public photos (I presume they're getting most of these from Flickr, but I don't know), check it:

haha.. it's pretty accurate.. I like how Europe is this big blob of yellow (high tourist) whereas Africa is a big grey hole

I was genuinely disappointed to see quite a bit of activity in Colombia--I know it's not even considered by the "mainstream" tourist or traveler yet, but I'm really afraid that it's getting there Sad
