One thing I've been trying lately is to not phrase something to a woman in such a manner as to involve her making a decision. Either clearly state what is going to happen, or if it does require some sort of agreement with her (such as coming with you somewhere), state it as a definitive matter of YOUR opinion.

For instance:

"Want to go to the movies?"
becomes
"I think we should go to the movies."

or

"Do you want to kiss me?" (from Mystery Method)
becomes
"I'm going to kiss you."

Obviously use proper discretion and don't do anything immoral. (How she responds is not something to be ignored, but rather is a very useful tool to determine how to proceed.)

Thoughts? Smooth sailing so far for this one girl I'm working on.

'I'm going to kiss you' is a line I've used before, though only one time so it's not exactly a statistically proven commodity. 'Are you a good kisser?' is turning into my ace in the hole tho.

Upon retrospect 'I think we should go to the movies' is kind of lame for an early game situation. I think this sort of line is more critical during a relationship, when you need to continue showing dominant behavior when normal guys weesh out into betadom, and the new Die Hard movie just came out obv.

Technically my whole line was, 'I'm going to kiss you, and then I'm going to go to the bathroom.'

I never tell a girl I'm going to kiss her. Actions speak louder than words.

I am probably 5/5 for telling a girl to kiss me but I already had dominance over her, I would say this if you needed to verbalize it, make sure your faces are already close.

I get what OP is saying but sometimes being more direct means DOING and not SAYING.

I never make it sound like I'm asking, or like the outcome depends on her decision. It's always an invite, like I'm doing it with or without her.

As far as kissing goes: there's really nothing to talk about, just do it. I think that whole Mystery thing was for kissing complete strangers.
