Looks like the claim is partially true, partially marketing hype.

From Wikipedia:

"While it is neither the highest nor the widest waterfall in the world, it is claimed to be the largest. This claim is based on a width of 1,708 metres (5,604 ft)[4] and height of 108 meters (360 ft), forming the largest sheet of falling water in the world"

I've been at Iguaçu Falls in both the Argentina and Brasil side and it's a sight to behold that completely dwarfs Niagara Falls (and NF is awesome). Would love to visit Victoria Falls in the future.

Me too, and I would Take a Digital SLR, have someone snap super tight pictures of me on the edge, print them in poster size and post them up on my office walls.

I think this place is my favourite place in the world.
I remember it well.... smoking a joint with a my smoking hot Zambian girl and watching the sun go down....
