Just finished reading Daygame again and motivated to go out on a self-imposed challenge of 100 approaches in a week. I am going to be using downtown Vancouver and a few suburban malls as my "hunting grounds".
I am thinking of doing street approaches and maybe some grocery store/ mall setups but would like to not waste my time on women in relationships. Besides looking for rings, do any of you guys have tips or hints on how to spot whether a girl is single? Roosh mentions to look for eye contact and slow walkers for "quality prey". Anything else the more experienced players can recommend to choose good prospects?
On a side note, Vancouver can be smaller than one thinks and I do have a lot of exes here who work and are social downtown. Hopefully I can avoid drama ( my last girl ended up working for the same company as the one I had dated before. They did not know they has dated the same guy until one awkward evening they walked to the train together where I met the current date...)

What I used to do was go to men's clothing stores or sporting goods stores where women worked. The type of women who choose to work in a male-heavy environment tend to be open to being chatted up. Subconsciously, they work there because they like the attention.

The way I used to operate was to wander into the clothing section (or store) looking lost. When I got to talking with the sales girl, I'd mentioned my g/f and I broke up and, wow, I just can't pick out clothes on my own. If they threw in a breakup story too, I'd go for a number.

Come to think of it, malls are THE place to pick up women until you're about 30. Some malls have information desks with nice looking girls behind the counter. I'd pretend I was new and ask for help/directions, and take it from there.

Finally, don't let "I have a boyfriend" stop you. To elaborate on what I said above, several mall-rat women I met had boyfriends. I got their numbers anyway because when you're young, relationships come and go. Sometimes I'd wait a few weeks to call and, sure enough, they no longer had a b/f. Always go for at least the number.

If she is walking by herself then she is single. That's my assumption.

I don't assume she has a boyfreind until she tells me - "sorry, I am in a relationship with someone"

And, even then, I will still keep gaming her until she says - "listen, I'm really flattered but i'm not available"

And, even then, I might keep at her until she has to remind me for a thrid time.

If she says it straight away as soon as it's obvious you're hitting on her, she most likely has one. Any other time in the interaction and it's most likely a shit test.

It's why I go direct.

In my opinion it works better than indirect approaches because they know exactly what they're getting into. I've also had better responses from the girls I've been on dates with who I've opened directly rather than indirectly.

It sets you apart from what seems a consequential open or approach to a man who goes up and gets what he wants and isn't afraid to display it.

They want a fresh, new, exciting experience. A handsome, well spoken man quenches their thrist for excitment. Especially, when he is smoothly direct. They see it in the movies all the time, they want to live that fantasy!

Sounds risky in a town where I might run into people again in various roles. By direct you mean straight up asking for a date? If that is more successful, why the whole routine in day bang? I thought it was to increase chances of getting numbers and build rapport with girls who might not be easy or uninhibited enough for a random stranger to take home.

Roosh's Day bang routine works, no doubt about it but that's indirectly opening a conversation with a girl by commenting on something she has, is looking at, drinking, or whatever. She doesn't know you're hitting on her but you're breaking the ice so to speak by chatting to her about something which won't scare her away and subtly coming about to asking her on a date by building attraction.

Direct is very simply approaching a girl and telling her you're attracted to her and want to know more about her for the purposes of sex/dating/a relationship. It still requires you to play the game, you have to still build the attraction and have a routine but there's less bullshitting and small talk.

As Giovonny said, girls dream about this stuff happening to them. A lot of guys mistake politeness from girls as a sign to hit on them and I imagine a lot of girls get it from guys no matter their alpha credentials who mistake them being polite for flirting or showing interest. Being direct separates you from that completely.

You're right, in smaller towns you do have to be more careful about going direct all the time.

Hit up different Fishbowls so you can be around different people.

Go to a wide range of places - The malls, the local colleges/universities, health clubs, markets, bookstores, cafes, hotels, the airport, restaurants, White neighborhoods, Black neighborhoods, Latin neighborhoods, Asian neighborhoods, rich, poor, middle class, etc., etc.

Rotate between all these places so that you don't come across the same girls all the time.

I disagree.

"Galnuc" gives guys a simple and easy method to build rapport with girls and number close them.

It took Roosh years to develop the method. It is actually very high level stuff and if done correctly can be extremely effective.

I need to re-study it. It's so simple and sharp.

I like Galnuc a lot because it can be used in pretty much any interaction where you have to get a girl's contact info, and it is an easy-to-remember way to suss out all the information you might need, while continuing to build some rapport. Maybe after a few more years it will all be so ingrained that I'll never lose my train of thought and be able to do everything freestyle, but I do find it very useful.

I also prefer indirect game, because I think there are a lot of girls who might be thrown off-balance by a direct approach but who will be quite receptive to a pleasant conversation with a charming gentleman, and in my present situation the population isn't large enough for me to burn through lots of girls indiscriminately by getting a reputation as a guy who hits on girls all the time. Indirect game feels more "natural" to me -most girls meet guys because they have something in common and started talking, not because he cold-approached them. On the other hand, there's no getting around the fact that direct approaching is plainly and simply more fun, at least in my opinion. It's faster and you don't have to bullshit about women's perfume, or cellphones, or how long it takes to get your food at Five Guys.

...as for the OP's question, as long as there's no ring, I feel quite free to open, and the onus is on her to tell me if she has some commitment to a man and doesn't want to continue the interaction. I just go for the hottest girls, or the girls who look fun to talk to, or the girls who are in the best position to be easily opened. Fortunately, engagement rings tend to be large and glittery, so they're not too hard to miss.

Thanks for the answers! Galnuc has one problem for me: two girls found it "rude to ask a lady about her age". Annoying attitude but once you target 25-30 year olds they get self-conscious. Should I just leave that part out or try to tease it out indirectly by mentioning my own age?
