Its a shame because its really not about race.

the issue is anger management. this guy is allowing the immature -irate kids around him to piss him off and then the kids all ganged up on him thretening him and a melee occurs. i don't know how it started.

then the situation just escalates.

he could very easily just have calmed down and let it go and let those immature kids have their moment of glory. But unfortunately, young people like this thrive of confrontation. they enjoy yelling, screaming and fighting. and men like this have a problem just letting things go and feel the need to fight fire with fire.

taken the high road and got away safe.

in their minds, they were happy for threatening a racist white man. but the truth is everybody was wrong.

i use the red and green line on a consistent basis.

and its amazing to see the differences in the types of people on the two lines.

it doesn't suprise me that things like this happen. the green line very often (not always) has some of the most unsavory types and being that there is alot of gentrification happening in DC, things like this are bound to happen.

i'm suprises it doesn't happen more often.

i would never ride the green line late at night. but in this case everybody was wrong.

He looks drunk or not mentally all there.

I was at Foggy Bottom a couple of weeks back and there was this huge grizzly adams looking homeless white guy. He was screaming at the top of his lungs "f**k you n***er" over and over. 3 teenage black guys walked by him, stopped and acted offended; they quickly realized he was drunk and probably insane (ie dangerous) and one of the guys said to his friends "he wasn't talking to us" and they got the hell out of there.

It seems as though he actually is gay, he is irate for being called me a fagot. In DC calling gays faggots is about the equivalent of calling blacks #$gers. So, the way I see it dont open up that box... if u don't want it to go there. he should have controlled himself better obviously... But those kids on the green line...are annoying and offensive as FUK!!

I'm black but imo, too many Blacks are too sensitive about the word "nigger". Why let someone you don't know have that much power to make you angry? When a White person calls me that they want to get a rise out of me and my rebuttal is always a smile and "I know I am, so what?" and they say it 10 more time b/c it's all they've got and when it don't work they don't know how to react. Try it, the response is automatic.

My theory about the "n-word" is it must be kept taboo so that it can be wielded as a weapon to make Blacks mad when necessary, but I digress.

Knowing how sensitive black are about the n-bomb, it wasn't prudent for him to use it in subway car that was blacker than asphalt. Most people from the hood are all reptilian brain so I'd know better than engage them in verbal aggresion b/c a fight is almost guaranteed.
