Looks like word is getting out and women are slowly re-learning what billions of other people managed to figure out eons ago.

The whole Gabby Reece cultural moment is an all-star list of things guaranteed to make Jessica Valenti's head explode. To recap:

1) Alpha marries hottie (fugly feminists need not apply)
2) Hottie follows feminist script for life/marriage; disaster ensues
3) Hottie discovers wifely submission (ie, food, sex, motherhood)
4) Hottie is now overflowing with happiness--and on national TV babbling nonstop about it

It's all food, sex, motherhood, laundry and empowering her husband to be even more alpha---she does not qualify or hedge in any real way on the wifely submission. God bless her---women like this make it safe for other women to acknowledge the obvious.

The hamster is strong in some of the commenters, but you can tell their hearts aren't really in it anymore. Who knows? Maybe the tide is turning at long last.

This is the only instance of an American woman of some prominence defending genuine femininity. Can anyone think of any others? There have been a few "conservative" women who advocate what looks like feminine submission but it always turns out to be feminism in disguise. Even Susan Patton's argument was pragmatic.

Iknowexactly, there are more of these women, but the hallmark of a feminine woman is that she is inwardly directed, towards her husband, her family, her home. Going out in public and defending an unpopular stance is a bit out of character, though obviously welcome to those who'd agree with her.

According to the article she divorced and then reunited with her husband.

My guess is that she was a bitch in the early years, the husband got tired of it and divorced her. Because HE DUMPED HER she fell more in love with him than ever and in order to win him back she became submissive.

Actually, Reese's major claim to fame was as an athlete, not a model. The modeling was more a sideline because she happened to be very attractive (volleyball usually has hotter girls playing it, as opposed to some other sports). I'm glad she saw the light, and isn't afraid to admit to it in the media. Of course, all the feminists will claim that deep down she's unhappy, and sacrificing said happiness for her chauvinist pig husband. Let 'em.

Laird Hamilton is probably one of the most alpha men alive today. His wife writing whatever she did is low on the list for him.
