Reminds me of when Jezebel was attacking Victor Pryde, 100% personal insults and no rebuttals. And unlike then, this is not the best written article and you could easily come up with some counterpoints if you had half a brain.

Apparently it's sexist to point out that if you're going to throw money at women you may as well get an escort. If it was written the other way around they'd be screaming that it's sexist to try and force women into prostitution by giving them money.

RE: 20 mistakes you don't want to make in your 20's
Most of it is pretty sound, but some of the things on that article are using circular logic. #5 is that you don't want to make the mistake of holding onto friends that hold no value to you. If they are constantly negative and not being good friends back to you, then yes, definitely cut contact. Or if you have and alcoholic parent that doesn't want to quit drinking but instead they are constantly a selfish black hole, definitely cut them out of your life. But #14 is that you don't want to forget that family comes first.

I disagree with the logic that when you are in your 20s you should be paying prostitutes. Better advice would be to avoid women that are moochers. The best women I have dated have always just wanted to be with me not for what I could provide for them monetarily but because they genuinely liked spending time with me, whatever we were doing. If they had changed it to 'do not ever spend money on women, the best women are the ones that will not want you for your wallet' then that would have made a lot more sense..

No one in their 20s should have to hire prostitutes unless they are completely socially inept with zero game and have tons of money to blow.

I don't get the whole "buy an escort" idea either. They're like (what?) 300-500 dollars for a couple of hours? Not to mention they're probably illegal in most of the country. It was a funny point though, why blow your money on demanding women when you could just go buy an escort?

RE: 20 mistakes you don't want to make in your 20's
I'm usually not a big fan of lists because they're lacking in content, but this one was pretty good overall. I saw all the wasted energy and time my male friends invested in relationships in their late teens and early 20s all because their girlfriends would fabricate bullshit "problems" out of thin air that they had to spend hours on the phone solving instead of doing important shit. Someone who stayed in the same area they grew up with the same group of friends all through their 20s probably is doing something wrong. However, the one point about spending time "motivating" those around you seems to contradict the other points about removing yourself from individuals who aren't going to help you. Don't know what the hell he means by that, or how much time you should waste playing hype man in between and working and making money.

As for paying for whores, if you have less free time than money and you live in a place like the U.S. where the women are low quality, it's probably not the worst thing to do occasionally.

"Sure, you don't want the suburban life but one day you'll be stuck with it. Stop dreaming about what you'll never achieve and start working on the suburban life and boring job" I think the comments are more motivating than the list haha.

Not a big fan of this list. A theme I'm getting from it is "work hard now, don't have any fun, and relax when you're old (i.e. when you can't fully enjoy it)." Kind of like what every American is doing, running the rat race without enjoying life. That idea doesn't seem very red pill to me. Some of the advice and ideas are pretty sound, but following this list isn't the only way to capitalize and these ideas. For example, it's not like you can't still make good money, buy nice things, and still work on advancing your career.

RE: 20 mistakes you don't want to make in your 20's
I agree with the gist of the list, even if half of it is mental masturbation.

I'm sure most of us would agree that this is untrue, if "expensiveness" is measured purely temporally and/or monetarily:

Quote:Free sex is the most expensive sex in the world. Instead of navigating through an ambiguous investment in which you shower your woman with cash and prizes for the mediocre sex provided, deal with a professional as soon as possible.

It does get the right idea though, that sex for most guys is paid for directly with cash, or indirectly with gifts and dinners.

And as for the rest of us, we just charge it to the game instead of fronting cash, gifts, or dinners; that is, we buy sex indirectly with game. Thus, the above statement becomes true if we include game as an expense.

Sex is the quintessential female bargaining chip; the objective for men is to pay for it with a commodity that's least costly to you.

For some men it is time. For others it is money. For most men, it is a combination of time and money.

For us, it's mostly game, which we can never run out of, unlike time and/or money.

RE: 20 mistakes you don't want to make in your 20's
I signed up for a porn site that charges recurring each month. I used a gift card with just enough to cover the cost, then spent the small balance at the store.

They thought they were getting a customer who would be too scared to tell the bank to stop the recurring charges. Instead they got the 3 day trial fee and nothing else. I saw the video I liked and that was it.

RE: 20 mistakes you don't want to make in your 20's
I don't know if I agree with the "get an escort" idea. I suppose it would be good if you're really raking in cash and you don't have time to go out and find women yourself, but your 20's is the time when you really should be learning that shit. At the very least, you should be making mistakes in your 20's so you know what not to do (so long as it isn't permanent like children with a shithouse crazy whore).

I'd rather get a shitty but somewhat secure job that pays the bills. At least until I can figure out a decent business or a hustle, but that won't happen for another five years minimum.

“I have a very simple rule when it comes to management: hire the best people from your competitors, pay them more than they were earning, and give them bonuses and incentives based on their performance. That’s how you build a first-class operation.”

Don't agree with the financial points. I prefer captain capitalisms 'enjoy the decline' strategy better.

RE: 20 mistakes you don't want to make in your 20's
This was definately written from an NYC perspective.

Those guys work sick hours, and make mad cash. For them, a $300-$500 escort is probably better off than gaming for a few hours at the bars because they'll be able to save more time and energy that way.

Plus, in NYC, the hookers are fucking hot compared to most places in the USA.

However, I still wouldn't do the hooker route even if I was in NYC.

Quote:Escort is fantastic sex?

haha. Condoms aren't great sex.

Yep, I'd rather beat off before sticking with condom sex. I always find a way to bang without the condom if I have a regular girl.

And I'm not dumb enough to fuck a hooker without a condom. That's just begging for a health-care bill.

Exactly. A big part of personal development & educating yourself is travel, acquiring external influences, maximizing productivity outside of the workplace too, and putting in the hard hours to "learn game" by investing time in day/night game. These are essential things peeps need to do in their 20's, which at least has made me a better person overall.

Other than that, there are some valid points he makes.

I think he raises some fair points because most people tend not to be as self-directed and autonomous as members of this forum are. They seek instant gratification so get fat, work dead-end jobs and settle for shitty relationships.

The mentality of deferring gratification here is very beneficial for long-term success, though you've got to be true to yourself and figure out if you're really that well balanced on the spectrum of present to future-orientation.

The list reminds me far too much of this Onion article:

RE: 20 mistakes you don't want to make in your 20's
Everything is ambiguously worded like fortune cookies and written in general psychic-like language so you don’t have a clear idea of what he’s saying. Maybe this is so people don’t call him out for his ideas.

20. Working for money, not for building your dreams

Work to live, not live to work. Many older people regret not beginning to travel the world at younger ages. Weight the costs vs. rewards of your current career plan for yourself.

18. Trying to act like the man rather than learning how to become one

The ROK article on bottle service and the “Seeking Arrangement Game” threads have really started to get me thinking differently on spending more money to appear “high status.” If there’s a substantially higher success rate by appearing high status vs. appearing cheap and low-status, you could ultimately be spending less money for sex by going the high-status route. Test for yourself.

15. Making all your wants, needs

Cut back on things you’re not passionate about so you’ll have more money for things you are passionate about.

14. Forgetting that family comes first

This isn’t for everyone. I’ve permanently ditched bad relatives just like I would anyone else I didn’t care for and I’ve been better off for doing it.

12. Getting comfortable like you actually deserve down time

The Mark Cuban example is great if you see yourself becoming a billionaire. Becoming extremely rich is the only reason I would work 7 years without a break.

11. Sticking with jobs that didn't teach you anything

I work part-time and make a $50k income and receive up to two months of paid vacation each year. I’ve gotten some good ass meeting girls at work. I like my job and don’t need to be taught shit.

6. Spending your money on women who aren't escorts

I like that he’s thinking outside the box, but if a good escort costs $500 for one-time sex, you’ll probably spend far less for more sex taking girls out for drinks or even dating.

If a date costs $50, assuming the costs were equal, you’ve really only spent $25 on her part. It would take 20 dates (whether first dates or repeat dates) spending $25 on the girl’s part to get to $500. You can always go on cheaper dates too. After you’ve fucked a girl once, you’re likely to have sex again and again for little to no money and less effort and time. An escort will cost you the same amount per bang: $500 in this example.

If she’s also paying on dates, then you’re not really paying her as much. You’re just spending money to go out. It’s ok to extend the 2-3 date rule if the girl is equally willing to pay for your time or if you make the better end of the deal.

Paid sex doesn’t provide the same feeling of enthusiasm and accomplishment, even if the hooker looks like and fucks like your favorite porn star. She’s doing it because she was directly paid to do it. Even “Seeking Arrangement Game” involves girls who genuinely want to continue dating. You’ll definitely have to use condoms with an escort.

I personally care little if a girl is “good in bed.” I care about her physical appearance, likeableness, enthusiasm for/during sex, that she does what I direct her to do during sex, and how much effort I’ll need to get it.
