going there only for few days at a time, I'm thinking I should do some pipelining to increase my chances.

facebook worked well in 2008 but these days, not too much success as messages from strangers go straight into a separate inbox with no notification. so it is necessary to add the girl right away.

there was a german website called studie VZ but it seems less and less active as facebook conquered germany

so what do you use to pipeline to deutschland? what sites/ technique?

If you are going for a few days, I'd suggest to just hit some bars, get your logistics right and go for ONSs. In summer the frauliens are known to be hot and horny/ Play up the French angle if you are going to a small town. Hit the beerfests too.

The quality on most dating sites in germany is below average, studiVZ is dead. Follow capotes advice, there are enough pretty girls on the streets and at the right night clubs.

okc has a few results depending on city. and the girls speak English

Sure it is well known that in general quality on dating sites is poor. Of course plan A is to use face to face pick up. But I think pipelining can be useful to hedge against bad luck, a plan B.

This girl from Frankfurt messaged me two years ago on Facebook about my university before coming for a semester or two. I never got the message because it was in the “Other” folder that I never knew about.

Since then, I graduated, and she returned to Germany, but I replied back anyway. We had a nice conversation and she said to let her know when I’m in Frankfurt so she can show me around “)”.

She basically tried to pipeline me before coming to the US.

Do you at least get a a notice that you have received a new message , even though it lands in the other folder ?

It seems you don't get any notice at all which is pretty stupid. I discovered the folder with some messages being almost two years old from people not on my friend list.

no notice at all.

just to follow up on this, I had added a bunch of girls from berlin before going there (like 40 or so) to see what would happen. one added me then unfriended me right away (probably added me by mistake).

from the others, it resulted in nothing... until, after a few days, out of the blue, I get a message from fb telling me to cancel the 40 or so friend requests I had sent, orelse I be banned from fb.

conclusion : fb is useless for pipelining if you don't already know people in the area. which is kind of stupid, as, if you knew people there, you would'nt need to pipeline in the first place.

in my opinion fb became useless when they stopped requiring a uni email for login, which opened the floodgates of spam from losers and fake accounts. to filter it they had to do the separate inbox thing.

but since it's so hard to delete a fb account when you want to, at least I know I just need to spam hardcore to get mine deleted, instead of doing the complicated process of account deletion.
