I don't see the outrage. Kinda cool if anything.

This reminds me of a concept in computer science, where you have parent classes (they're fairly generic) and then you make more specialized ones. Basically, with this, you'll be able to turn one set of cells into another. With this we can have anything from sperm cells to cells that can regrow limbs and organs.

Really, what's the point of this project and who'd fund it? You'd think feminists would be spending that money on other forms of propaganda.

Most men are already considered disposable in society. This is just more propaganda to make us seem insignificant.

Honestly, more than anything, those scientists are doing it for the same reason that other scientists are doing:
1 - Fame
2 - Money

That's pretty much it. If they make a breakthrough, they're now famous around the world and it ups their status. At that point, they can cash in on that status by going to work for major corps or universities with absurd pay and benefits. They'll pay lip-service to making lives better for others, but they just want the $$$ at that point.

Who cares. This will be a luxury for the 1st world. As rich countries wither after they try to phase out men, the formerly poor countries will overtake them and learn from those mistakes. The world has a funny way of correcting itself.

So it could be said that their evolutionary instinct essentially eliminated their own position on the playing field.
