MSFT is supposed to announce the next Generation of Xbox next week. I don't have much hope that such technology will be ready, but if so it could be a game changer, though I imagine that if such technology was brought to market that the cable companies would fight this tooth and nail. This is one area that I would like to see Congress get involved (though they would probably end up screwing it up) and breakup the power that cable companies have.

Personally, I own video game consoles as they are a fun distraction for me and are a way for me to cool off in the evenings.

There are none! Just buy a cheap gaming PC, you will have access to more games than any other platform. Besides,people who own consoles waste hours on Black Ops and Halo.

I like my xbox for movies and music as well as playing games sometimes. The kinect is the shit, I just tell my xbox to pause or rewind an that shit listens. When I brought my xbox to the Philippines an would watch movies with girls an then be like Ima go grab a drink you want anything, then say Xbox pause an that shit paused those girls looked at me like I was George Jetson an flew to Davao on a spaceship.
