I decided to watch football in the bar for the first time this season.
First, I convinced myself that the Buccaneers were going to beat the Raiders I'm overtime. Fuck that missed tackling on the winning TD.
Then I watched the first half of the Broncos-Chargers game. Every play for the first half should've been preceded by the Billy Madison scene, "I know you like 'em extra slopppppy!" I think both teams combined for 40 yards rushing in the first half. Just brutal.
Then someone walked in and said he went to two Broncos games in Denver, and heard the greatest rumor of who will be Broncos QB next season.
Philip Rivers! That would rock. My brother called it "pro wrestling" to get him. Which would make Elway, Vince McMahon.
And finally I saw who Denver plays next week on Sunday night football.

Nothing is greater than when Von and DeMarcus arrive simultaneously.
As a former defensive end, I am jealous, there can be no denying it.
But 513 yards passing is 513 passing there buds. This deaf dumb blind kid Derek Carr sure throws a mean football.
Care to do a signature wager? Loser has to adopt a signature of winner's design for at least a week or so.
I used to like the guy but Damn! Another press conference where he whines. All this season has done is proved he is a cry baby when he doesn't win or get his way.
He is the Dwight Howard of the NFL. Whines about getting hit all the time but still scrambles too much with out sliding, holds on to the ball too long. The only legit claim he had was vs. Denver earlier in the season but still if you want to play running back instead QB don't complain when you get hit.
There were multiple helmet-to-helmet hits that didn't get called against Denver or Atlanta earlier in the year. The Atlanta hit put him on the concussion and he missed the next week. Calais Campbell went right after his knees this past Sunday, as well...
^ On one hand, nobody wants to hear a grown man whine. On the other hand, if you look at how other big names are protected, I see where he's coming from.
That Newton scrambles and "holds onto the ball for too" long is besides the point. Refs have missed some legitimate headshots against him this year. I don't blame him for making it an issue.
Does anyone here think that the Cleveland Browns will go 0-16 this year?
It is mind boggling that they have used SIX quarterbacks this year. And getting Jamie Collins from the Patriots isn't gonna help much.
Unless they catch one of their remaining opponents (most likely either the Bills or Ravens) in some sort of freefall, they will not win a game at all. They even went winless in the preseason!
But Hue Jackson will end up staying as coach for next year.
Richard Sherman trashing the NFL again. My first reaction is, little bitch needs to shut the fuck up.
Then I read some of it (I shortened them for consumption)...
Quote:...
Sherman spent most of his 15-minute press conference attacking the NFL, saying it’s to blame for declining TV ratings for taking the fun out of things, ripping officiating and saying of commissioner Roger Goodell...
...
— On why he thinks he’s never been fined for what he’s said about the league: “Sometimes the truth is the truth is the truth. It is what it is. This is basically reality TV, so I guess I’m good for ratings, probably.’’
...
— On why TV ratings are down: “Because the league isn’t fun anymore. Every other league, you see the players have a good time. It’s a game. This isn’t politics. This isn’t justice. This is entertainment. ...”
...
— On how to improve officiating: “Make the rule book a lot less extensive. You’ve got a bunch of freaking rocket scientists writing rules for a simple game....’’
— On the league saying many rules are put in place for player safety: “I don’t buy it. That’s for public perception....”
— On how he would rewrite the pass interference rule: “I’d even it out. I’d take illegal contact out or I’d call it both ways...”
And I think, quit the general trashing of 'the league' and Goodell and stick with those bullet points. And he's right, he's good for ratings so they let him rant.
When I read those bullet points, he offers some pretty solid points. Even if I think he's an idiot and I can't stand hearing him talk.

Furthering this analogy:
Both are also from Atlanta, Georgia.
Both picked 1st overall in draft class.
Both players made it to the finals in their 5th years of their careers.
So this means:
Cam will get traded in 2019 to the Denver Broncos after Lynch and Siemian flame out, and play one year after not fitting into the team.
Signs with the Dallas Cowboys in 2020 after Prescott leaves town, plays for 3 years, loses NFC Championship in 2021.
Comes home in 2023 and plays last years of his career with the Atlanta Falcons.
You are a classy guy MMX2010! So I am not inclined to exploit the situation for personal trolling pleasure, but will rather seize the opportunity to advertise a bit of rhetoric we can probably both agree on and enjoy. If you would be so kind as to adopt the following statement as your signature:
James Comey is a cuck
It would delight me bigly.
As for the game... a commanding win by the Raiders. Who needs 500+ yards passing when you have Latavius Murray rushing for over 100 yards, your defense finally finding their groove, and your punt team delivering HIGH ENERGY punts AND amusing dance moves??
And... Khalil Mack has a question for Trevor Siemian:

(There's been some superstition regarding the Redskins and the game before Election Day.)
Yes. If the Redskins win the last home game before election day, the incumbent party stays in the White House. If they lose, the party not currently in the White House takes the Presidency.
The last home game the Redskins had they beat Philly, and they have had games at the Ravens, at the Lions, and against the Bengals in London since then, so that means Hillary will be in office .
Before the Broncos-Raiders game, I was going to start an RVF poll, "Which of these is more deplorable: Spirit Cooking OR Being A Raiders Fan?" - but the correct answer was The Entire Broncos Running Game.
Raiders will be tough if they make the playoffs. Glad to see them good again.
AMERICAS Patriots team 30 versus Al Qaeda Kapernick 17... 9 YES NINE losses in a row for Anti American Kaphuckstick... what happens when you lose focus on your job by focusing on making a statement... that you are a LOSER.
At this point, I think the Cleveland Browns should go with Charlie Whitehurst for the rest of the year. What the hell do they have to lose at this point? They can't make the playoffs, and they're gonna more than likely end up finishing last in the AFC North, but maybe they might win before the season is over.
Goff looked like absolute shit today. (You can see the vid with all of his throws on the NFL page of youtube (the video player in nfl.com is utter garbage)).
Every pass was a slant. You think the DB's aren't gonna realize this pattern of play calling?
I hope they truly open up the playbook next week. At least have some variety even if it's not directly leading to complete passes, don't be so predictable. They have decent receivers, get them the ball.
