From my experience, you don't need much to open and number close girls in other countries. But the real challenge is actually going on the dates and seducing her.

I find that when the girl has a limited grasp of english and you're forced to dumb down the conversation, you lose a lot of the nuance and subtleties that come naturally as you get to know each other better and develop a rapport. Like you can't get too deep into things or she won't be able to get all your jokes.

Does anyone have any tips in regards to doing well on dates with foreign women? Like I know going dancing is a great way to shift the interaction to body language, but perhaps there's other things people have done to deal with this problem.

The best thing is to take things into your own hands and learn some basics language yourself... A date is 95% about communication.

If everything totally stalls I`d hit up Google-translate and have fun with it... Problem with dates with the language barriere is that it`s mentaly draining since you are most likely the one who will have to keep "the conversation" going.

Only real way around it in my experience is to learn the language. The rest is mostly just practice. You can still use some humor when dating girls in a foreign language, such as sarcasm. Obviously you won't be as eloquent as you are in your native language, but you'll just have to improvise.

Also, this can work as a type of positive vicious cycle: the more you date women using a foreign language, the better you'll get at that language; as a result, it'll be easier to game women from that particular country, which in turn improves your language proficiency, and so on and so forth.

Last weekend with out for drinks with a girl in Guadalajara who spoke hardly any English, and my Spanish is very limited. Somehow we still managed to talk for a for a few hours, but like you said, it was mentally draining and even frustrating trying to figure out how to say something but not being able to.

Learn the 1,000 most common words in her language by heart. That should make things 100x easier.

Avoid too much "conversation" and invest on body language. Take her to a noise club, a pub with live music or simply get drunk and laugh.

All good suggestions. And I know what you're talking about in terms of carrying the brunt of the interaction and having to dumb things down yet still have a fun engaging time. I had to go through that a few weeks ago.

What I was wondering if you anyone has done it and come up with some neat tricks to make things more fun and less awkward, like some kind of game or activity.

I just got the "Declan" app for this purpose. Basically has tons of common vocab words and pronunciations.
