A Simple, Kick-Yourself-in-the-Ass Online Productivity Trick
This might be an obvious one for a lot of you guys, but it took me a while to figure out you could set multiple pages as your home page with Firefox. I've set my browser so that when I open my computer, four web pages open up automatically, each of which I've picked specifically for productivity purposes.

Here they are:

1) DontBreaktheChain.com

This is a cool, free calendar tool that helps track daily habits you want to incorporate into your life. It's no more complex than “x'ing” off the days of a calendar on your wall, but it's convenient to have it right in front of my face every time I go to my laptop.

The first habit I'm currently focusing on everyday is my morning ritual, which includes working out, meditation, reading, and a few other things. I wrote more about this concept here: /thread-17066-...#pid292673 The second is just making sure I am working a certain amount of hours everyday, as I'd really slacked off and let my financial situation dwindle. I will add to these habits as I go along.

I believe it was Roosh that posted about this tool recently.

2) Project Management Spreadsheet

This is a neat little spreadsheet I've put together in Google Docs to easily track my work projects and tasks, manage priority, and record how close each is to completion. If someone wants a peek, feel free to drop a pm.

3) YouTube Positivity Playlist

Just a playlist I've put together with songs that get me pumped up, positive, and in a motivated state.

4) Speed Dial Menu

Speed dial is a Firefox add-on that creates a visual bookmarking menu of all your favorite sites and can be separated into different tabs depending on how you want to organize.

Honestly, I could have just set this as my home page, but I find having the individual pages actually open rather than made available through small windows is a lot more effective. So, I instead have my speed dial open in a fourth tab, allowing me to easily navigate through the Internet once I've reviewed my priorities.

I think it's pretty clear how having all of these set as my homepage can go a long way towards kicking me in the ass if I'm being a lazy bastard and not getting shit done. Turn on my internet and, BAM, my priorities in life all laid out before me and the soundtrack to back it up.

How to Set This Up

I'm only detailing how to set multiple home pages using Firefox because that's all I use – I'm sure the other internet browsers have this option too, so just do some searching.

To set this in Firefox, follow the steps below:

1) Open up all the pages you want in separate tabs.
2) Go to Tools.
3) Select “Options.”
4) On the “General” Tab, click “Use Current Pages” to set the home page.
5) Done

Hope this doesn't seem too simplistic to you guys; I know it's pretty basic stuff. If anything, I'm sure the way it's used here can be of help to someone.

Now go get some shit done.

Beyond All Seas

"The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe.
To be your own man is a hard business. If you try it, you'll be lonely often, and sometimes
frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself." - Kipling
