Finance/Investment guys: Investing in Apple?
Just saw this on FB:
"Selling $17 Billion in Bonds, and with iOS 7 rumors: could this be an investment opportunity in Apple? start now with as little as $50. http://www.etoro.com/partners/aw.aspx?B=...Task=Click"

I'm not a finance/investment guy, so was wondering what the expert Wall Street/F/I guys in here think of that move. Good idea? or sheep-a-like move? What are your thoughts on that guys?

Cheers.

Apple has tons of cash, something like $100-150 billion, though with the majority off-shore. They don't need to borrow money, this is purely for tax minimization purposes. Buying Apple bonds is a very low risk/low reward investment pretty much akin to buying Treasury bonds, if that's what you're looking for.

I can't have sex with your personality, and I can't put my penis in your college degree, and I can't shove my fist in your childhood dreams, so why are you sharing all this information with me?

Just from reading the quote on your post and a quick scan of that site, I wouldn't trust it very much. "JOIN NOW AND GET FREE STOCK!"

Do you use this site regularly or just happened to stumble upon it?

The design looks like it will appeal to many. For those that haven't seen iOS 7: http://www.apple.com/ios/ios7/

I'm not sure we have fundamental markets anymore - just Fed intervention. Just be warned if you invest and then the Bernanke continues tapering you will get slaughtered in a sell-off. And if the Bernanke (or Yellen) promises to print more money you will make some quick cash.

Apple was cheap at $300 not sure about $400 though.

smart investors are not putting money into bonds or Apple. I'd suggest avoiding.

With bonds you have to remember that you have two different investment options. You can buy bonds at a certain price and hope the price goes up so you can sell them. Or you can buy bonds and hold them to maturity making money on the interest payments. Buying Apple bonds and holding them is a pretty low risk investment. The only risk is the interest rate risk; in other words, the risk that you could have earned a higher return with a different investment.
