'They' being immigration in whatever country.

Convictions?

Arrest warrants?

College grades?

No of bangs? Banana

I've always been curious about what they can see.

Anyone got any inside info?

I know a gringo who is living in Brazil and hustling to make dough under the radar in two different part time jobs. He basically lives perpetually in Brazil somehow because the immigration in Iguacu and immigration in larger cities are very poorly coordinated.

There are similar hacks you can do within the Schengen zone apparently - although I have not used them personally - this is anecdotal evidence.

The point being, my assumption is that if these countries seem to not be able to handle various immigration points within their own country, how can they coordinate a giant info sharing network across the world?

Then again with recent developments, maybe they can. Who knows.

I feel like immigration of most semi-developed countries in the world - like Indonesia/Philippines level or above - would be able to show a record of what you've done in their own country for sure. Not sure what the situation would be like for your rapsheet in other countries.

The RFID chip in your passport only holds a serial number. When they read it into their system it looks it up in a database somewhere. I'm sure it's just all the same info present in your passport.

Good question. I wonder if it links to a travel database - where you've been.

All I've seen come up when Indonesian immigration scans my passport is "No Threats Detected." No idea what data that conclusion is based on.

I swear they are reading something that takes a little time when mine comes up, and I watch their expression and then they shue me through quickly with a surprised and somewhat quirked look on their faces.

I imagine it says something like this: "This is a really good guy. Here at central control we like him a lot a lot and hope your country likes him too! p.s. keep a poker face reading this or else!"

The UK border system shows a photograph taken of the last time you entered along with info I couldnt quite read, I've seen that personally anyway. To add an extra layer of security to the passport photo I guess, make sure its you. I'd be fairly certain each countries system shows a record of your entries/exits/any criminality in that country. And I'd say most of Western Europe & the U.S. (plus Australia & NZ) have a fairly decent linked system
