Intellectual curiosity.
Intellectual curiosity is an underrated aspect of a country's culture that is not necessarily correlated with income or education. One need not have top-notch education to be intellectually curious. Seeking knowledge is more a function of personality and culture.

In my experience, Eastern Europe (Romania, Moldova, Ukraine) was great. A girl I met in Romania challenged me to a chess game. It was close--I won't say who won! A Moldovan chick could find Iowa on the map. Impressive.

On the other hand, dealing with some OFW Filipinas in the UAE and elsewhere was frustrating. Despite Filipinas having a better command of English than most other foreigners in the UAE, the conversation was limited. Pop culture was about as far as it would go and frequently the only common ground.

Which countries have you found to be the most intellectually curious? And the least?

Ambition usually runs parallel to intellectual curiosity. So for that, I'd say India is up there too. In the USA at least, there seems to be a disproportionate number of doctors that are Indian. Many are women. I met a sexy Desi girl at a pub in the Columbia Heights area of DC when I lived there. She was doing residency at GWU. But she never had time to do much else but work. It was at least 90 hours a week she was putting in, and "on call" when not at work. The conversation was very engaging on my topics, but kino and escalation led nowhere. No bang, damn it. Angry

Also, in many parts of the Middle East (Oman, from my experience), all of the businesses are run by Indians, but it is usually all men doing this.

Anglo women are least in intellectual curiosity since they regard anything outside the Anglosaxon world as worthless(except foreign penis of course).

Absolute rubbish. You evidently haven't been to Thailand or the Philippines.

I don't understand what you mean. The main question they ask is what is the position of women in your country? If you answer there is not much female participation they answer then it is boring. They also want to eat English breakfast, drink English drinks, watch English TV and just use the country as scenery sun and sea for the usual activities they have in England, they seldom visit archaeological places preferring bars and clubs English style etc.
Germans on the other hand have some curiosity and see the good sides.

Thai girls/women are the dumbest females on the planet.

Russian women are definitely the smartest. Their intelligence, or at least their cultural knowledge, is astounding. Most are very well read and by-and-large, far more learned in classical arts (literature, painting, music ect) than western women.

Among the slavic women the Czech are the most intellectual and the Ukrainian the least.Russian are the most cosmopolitan and presentable and polish the smartest in terms of fastness and academic potential however they are severely hindered by the village nature of their country and its relative isolation for decades.

I wouldn't say Thai girls are the dumbest but they are definitely, per the thread topic, some of the most intellectually uncurious I've ever met.

Not only do they shun talking about anything of depth but they are completely unable to see a connection between intelligence/smarts with wealth/affluence. It's as if these things just fall into people's lap.

As much as I love Thailand this is the one thing that keeps me from considering the country for my early retirement.

It's because in Thailand, they do. Wealth/affluence in Thailand has nothing to do with intelligence. It's almost all passed down from generation to generation, and it stays that way.

You're talking about English beach sluts in Shagaluf and other package holiday destinations, I guess. They horrify me. I try to mix with educated girls who read non-fiction books, appreciate classical music, the arts and philosophy etc. I know it's hard to find that type of curiosity in SE Asia. I've not interacted much with Russians, but certainly Germans are at least one level higher than the English.

It's a good point. It's like how they say "he's from a good family" or "he has a really good background" there and in other asian countries. That used to get to me. Like, why should your family matter? "Background" is bullshit. But in developing countries with corruption, uhh, it actually really makes a difference. Connections, family name and who you know are huge.

Same with the intellectual thing - it actually is much more disconnected from power and earning ability than in western countries. Something like skin colour might actually trump it in terms of your opportunities for wealth there, as fucking crazy as that sounds. But it's how things are.

How about Korean and Japanese girls? From my little experience, they seemed pleasant and smart. Though I met them outside their natural habitat, on holiday.

Alot of conformism and superficiality in their cultures, but there are smart people there. The ones who are independent thinkers will often be very worldly with well-developed opinions. Both their cultures highly value education and achievement.

RE: Intellectual curiosity.
In North America I think if you were to make a histrogram you'd have two peaks. The Jeopardy/traveller/public TV crowd and then the Southern US/people who watch the Bachelor. Literally got into a heated argument with an American girl in Cancun who was calling me out because I said the US had less than a billion people. Happily blew myself out of the water. Any mouth that can spew that kind of stupidity I don't want near my cock.

Most of SE Asia as others have pointed out get a low score, though I have certainly found a few gems of people here.

Australia Is pretty good I find, but that goes hand in hand with their almost Rite of Passage style of travel.

Poland, Estonia, Slovakia I've had great conversations with people who knew specific tier 2 cities in Canada, just from reading. For all it's faults I think communism did an alright job of education.

Africa has been hit and miss. I met a guy from Gambia who knew my city in Canada had a Canada-Gambia association.

EE girls are intellectually curious because it's kind of in their culture and the more educated they are, the better chances for success and abilities to earn money. Actually in my opinion, the most intellectually uncurious place is southern California, specifically OC. Yes, lot's of platinum blondes but I'd shoot myself after 20 minutes of hearing them talk about absolute rubbish.

If the girls think your culture is somehow superior like it happens in Poland Ukraine they have curiosity. If they regard your culture as inferior as in English countries they are not curious at all. Mainstream is mainstream.

Depends on what you mean by intellectual. I think Russian/EE women are very intelligent but are also more "right side of the brain" thinkers. Very exact and logical, but not so much in the way of creativity.

I find Jewish women, of any nationality, to be very curious/intellectual in general.

I don't think Latin American women are very intellectual, but they are socially intelligent.

RE: Intellectual curiosity.
I think this thread nails down the main reason as to why I have such distaste for the proliferation of American (or perhaps just "Western") culture.

My hypothesis is that people strongly affected by American culture tend to take a large declining hit in terms of intellectual curiosity.

(Note that I'm not saying that Americans lack intellectual curiosity, but that the core aspects of American culture, or the parts that foreigners are most magnetized by, tend to dumb down intellectual curiosity.)

I recall this Hungarian girl who wishes she were born in America. A lot of her mannerisms were "wannabe American" if that makes any sense.

The worst is her posting of Tila Tequila videos on her facebook page trying to show off. Little does she know that if an American sees that you listen to Tila Tequila, you will not be taken seriously. She also asked me what "swag" means, and I told her. She responded with "Then, I got swag". lol. I really had to repress my laughter.

Note that this is a sample size of one, so I'll have to do more digging before I generalize, but does anyone notice that in a large percentage of times where foreigners try to adapt Americanisms that it comes across as very evidently try-hard?

There's a VICE episode on Iraq of ostracized aspiring metalheads that just seemed off. I remember 13 year old Dutch kids in a hotel I was staying at bothering my American friends after saying "I heard American girls are easy" and acting just sketchy as fuck. And let's not forget what happens when foreigners start assimilating feet first in the American continent.

For this discussion to be fruitful, we need to be more precise and decouple intellectual curiosity per se from raw intelligence. Otherwise some people will be talking about apples and others oranges.

For example, American Jewish girls are high in IQ, but intellectually vapid (as American girls tend to be).

SEA girls are low in IQ and low in intellectualism.

It pains me to call any group of girls intellectual (as basically all girls seem intellectually un-curious), but I would rate Taiwanese girls to be high in intellectualism in addition to their high IQ. It's all relative, I suppose.

RE: Intellectual curiosity.
Ugh...If I wanted intellectual curiosity - or at least chicks that are well read and don't mind a little "discussion" I'd stick to dating lawyers.

As for the general theme of this thread, in my experience
- EE's - the one's i've dated have all had technical degrees. They could speak multiple languages. Could typically draw/paint and could play an instrument. Very rarely would their degrees come into question, and for the most part they were obsessed with name brands and labels. Louis Vuitton means quality. Benz means quality.

- Asian and Indian Americans - again, typically have tech degrees, gainfully employed in those field. Their knowledge is deep in that field, but rarely can they think beyond it. And so many of them bandy their degrees around like it's a sign of intelligence. I see it at work all the time. Chicks of Indian/Asian descent have no imagination and no initiative - they just follow the script to the fucking letter. But even more vapid and label obsessed than the typical biology major from Serbia chilling in BK.

- Marias, Keishas, and Beckies - schooling wise they don't take the tough humanities courses, they take the easy ones. If they're in business, it's in communication, pr, or marketing. Tech subjects? They tried them as freshman and switched majors by a least 3 semester. Celebrity and label obsessed to the point at which they'll proclaim some bullshit like

"I got a degree, but i'm still hood" on some Miley Cyrus steez.

I learned my lesson long ago in looking for intellectual stimulation from a chick. Nothing like a simple conversation about making people show ID in order to vote devolve into some emotional and relationship shit.

That's the fucking norm in dealing with chicks, but I could have a vigorous discussion with a Romney or an Obama male supporter and there'd be no love lost between us.

I like to limit the amount of bullshit I have to deal with, so no worldly and philosophical questions with chicks.

If I want to chat with someone about Laffer curves or the 4 justifications for punishment in the legal system, i'll go online thank you very much.

WIA

It's interesting, but looking at online social dating site profiles of Filipinas, when they describe themselves, many of them use the same "I'm a simple woman, blah, blah" to describe themselves. As if they know they don't have much going for themselves intellectually.

"The best kind of pride is that which compels a man to do his best when no one is watching."

RE: Intellectual curiosity.
For me it comes down to liking a girl that:

a) gives a shit about things in the world outside of her immediate life
b) can grasp complexity and mental models with several moving parts

Raw tech ability or mental horsepower doesn't cut it... so I guess it's the curiosity that's the important part. The desire to learn/understand/make a mark, not just the ability to crunch numbers, memorize or argue.

Two of the most sensual and compassionate girls I've met have been intellectually curious, interested in the world, loved learning, etc. That's the sweet spot IMO.

I wonder about Thailand. IQ after all is a western measure of intelligence, despite the illusion of "culture-free" tests. I'm inclined to think that if they score lower, it's for cultural reasons and not differences in raw intelligence.

I have a hunch that if you actually measured frontal lobe brainwaves (e.g. peak alpha frequencies) you wouldn't find any significant differences. Their problem solving might be systematically weaker, as shown in IQ tests - but I'd think that would be for cultural reasons.

Then again, maybe all that bad oil in the street food has taken it's toll, haha.
