I have tried every single type of shampoo and i stil develop dandruff..
my hair is a little bit oily and have dried scalp..
does anybody know if vinegar is good for erradicate it?

I had really bad dandruff. Cutting my hair short and using head & shoulders made it go away completely.

Cheap store brand apple cider vinegar works. Fill a small spray bottle with 50/50 vinegar and water.
Spray it in your hair before a shower. Comb it through and massage your scalp. Rub it in. 10 minutes is more than enough. Your scalp may tingle from it. It's a good thing.

Just don't leave it in too long. It is an acid. I found it takes some of my hair color away. It doesn't lighten it like the sun does. It pulls the brown right out of it.

It takes all the shampoo build up right out. You'll find that your shampoo and conditioner work great after.

Once or twice a month is plenty.

Did you ever consider that the shampoo itself could be a problem? There's a growing trend, that I am a part of, of not using shampoo. I honestly, can't remember the last time I used shampoo except for when I get my hair cut. No clue whatsoever. Probably a year or so. My hair is fine. No dandruff, it looks sexy, and feels smooth. The only thing that touches my hair is water and occasionally coconut oil.

If you don't feel like giving up shampoo altogether that's fine, but I would reccomend that you:

a.) Cut back on the frequency that you use shampoo. Too much will only wipe away the scalp of its natural oils, leaving your scalp dry, and eventually flaky. Not only that, but when the oil gets removed as a result of shampooing, the body will overcompensate and produce more oil, leaving people with a greasy, dandruff covered scalp. My brother has suffered from dandruff for as long as I can remember and he recently is seeing a drastic decrease in dandruff from simply shampooing only a few times a week.

You likely have Seborrhea of the Scalp and have to shampoo MORE frequently i.e. daily

There is a yeast called Malassezia which feeds off the excessive oil production causing dandruff. Clearing it regularly is the solution.

Get a few different anti - dandruff shampoos and rotate them. Good ones: Sebcur-T, Nizoral, Selsun Blue, Head & Shoulders

This will get it under much better control

I used to have dandruff for years and no shampoo I tried ever helped. Then a doctor friend explained that it's usually caused by seborrhea of scalp, some sort of fungus actually, and need to be treated accordingly. She bought me a small bottle of shampoo called Keto Plus (in a pharmacy store, don't think it's available in regular stores), and the dandruff was completely gone in a week.

Keto Plus is ketoconazole it's sold as Nizoral in the US. Not sure if it's available over the counter anymore but prescription strength is better. Helps you keep your hair too.

If it's really bad go see a dermatologist. Most of the time dandruff is fungal but sometimes it's psoriasis and the treatments are different.

You can get the 2% (prescription strength; 1% is sold over the counter) OTC in most countries.

If you're in the U.S., you can usually find 2% on eBay or Amazon.

This is exactly right. Get a bunch of anti-dandruff shampoos that each use a different medication and rotate them regularly (I use each shampoo twice then onto the next).

I have four in my rotation using Zinc Pyrithione, Salicylic Acid, Selenium Sulfide and Tar.

I have already tried head and shoulders and selsun blue but there was no effect.
Maybe i will check for a nizoral type of shampoo, but as im not in the US i will have to ask
for ketoconazole shampoo right?

Did you do it in the way I and bigxxx have described? Using one medicated shampoo is a much weaker effect than using 4 in a rotation.

I also suffered from chronic dandruff for years and I shaved my head all of the time for 6 years in the military. I tried the hard stuff like tar solutions to even prescription drops from a dermatologist...nothing worked. However, I stumbled upon a brand of dandruff shampoo made by Neutrogena. It's called Neutrogena daily control (from the makers of T/Gel) 2 in 1: Dandruff Shampoo plus Conditioner.

Anyway, after using this stuff for about 2-3 months, I started to notice that I itched my scalp less. You have to understand that my scalp flaked really bad and in some spots it was red and scabby from dryness and me itching. So it looked bad and it felt even worse...like my scalp was always on fire. After 2-3 months my scalp itched less and after about 6 months I began to forget that I even had scalp problems/dandruff at all. This is how effective this stuff was for me.

Basically, I use it every day. I let it sit on my scalp for about 2-3 minutes after lathering well. It doesn't smell like shit which is what tar solutions smell like if you haven't tried them already. This shampoo is actually really good and girls have even commented on how nice it smells. It's been about 7 years now that I've been using it and my dandruff is non-existent and my dry, itchy, and red scalp problems are gone as well. The active ingredient in it is Pyrithione Zinc (1%) and maybe for my body chemistry, it worked really well. I think that for some people with acne or skin problems, I read zinc works really well to treat the problem. This might work for you.

Cold showers - the hot water showers dry out your scalp and can exacerbate the problem
