That's mad cool. That homeless guy seemed like he was a genuine good guy too and deserved it. I've come across so many homeless people that were total pricks that a lot of times I find it hard to help them out. For example, they'll ask for a cig and I'll tell them it's my last one and they have something smart to say. Or in Miami they'd ask me for money and is say sorry, I have no cash and they'd say something like, "yeah right, I know you're making tips." To which I'd reply, "you're right, and I work hard for my money." This video makes me feel like I should be more helpful.

I did see homeless people a lot though at David's cafe on Miami beach and many times I would ask them if they wanted a coffee, tea, or a pastry. There was one women in particular that I would hook up often. Sometimes the homeless would deny my offer and say they only wanted money, which I would never give them because there was a high probability that they'd just go buy drugs with my hard earned money.

One of the most moving things I've seen on the forum. This is up there with some of the things in this thread.

Funny thing is that I've often thought this would be a great idea for a reality show. Vitaly seems to have gone out and done it.

I'll give beer to bums. I don't think I would ever give them harder drugs though.

I would never give money to a homeless person, because there is a high probability they would not know what to do with it(they may not be high functioning enough to go to a fast food restaurant, order the food, give the cashier the money.) A lot of people on the street are legit crazy/schizophrenic and don't have access to their medication.

I'd also give a bum a beer. I've given one pot before. But I just don't feel right giving one money when I'm trying to help them out with some food and they don't want the food. It's usually pretty rude the way they turn it down too. But you're right, a lot of them have far bigger problems than the average person is able to grasp. This video made me want to hook up them next homeless person I see though.

Another recent experience I had with a homeless person... The guy asked me if I had a cig and I told him no. I did have a few, but I've been strapped for cash these last couple months so I didn't want to be handing then out. When I told him no he responded, "ok thank you, god bless you." When I heard that I turned around and gave him a cig.

I love to do this to the "ran out of gas" guys.

I let them rant for 10 or 15 minutes about how they where going home from work and they forgot to load gas and their wife being pregnant and what not they had bought some shit for her but then his card is overdrafted so he cant use it to pay at the gas station so if one could kindly help him with a couple of bucks to get just enough gas in the jerry can that he conveniently has in his hand just so he can drive home to his wife... then I plainly tell them no, and they just walk away looking for someone else.

Not even a thanks anyway or a can you give me a ride then.

My brother had a guy come up to him like this with his two little kids in tow and some story about his crazy old lady leaving them stranded or something and how just needed the money for gas. My brother, hard-working guy with a big heart, kicked him down $45.

A week later, the same guy approached him outside the mall with the same kids and the same story. My brother sat there and listened to him and just shook his head and was like "What the fuck, Man?"

The guy just played dumb. "What?"

"You just pulled this shit on me last week!"

LOL Dude didn't even bother explaining. Just went red in the face and turned and walked away.

After I said no, couple guys said 'sorry to bother you'.
I felt kind of bad but still kept walking.

Next time, it would be a lot easier for me to walk away.

I am hoping this vid is not fake, and it does not look fake and because of that this vid shows me that Vitaly is a very good judge of character. There are so many arrogant and rude and ungrateful homeless people on the streets that don't know the value of hard work, but this homeless guy works 5 hours for $8 and truly knows the value of hard work and Vitaly choose him cause he knew this homeless dude would be grateful.

Whatever at least he had the decency to say it and was polite. I don't hear very many of them say that. He had a positive attitude and that's why I gave it to him. I don't care if he meant it or not, it was the fact he wasn't bitter about it.

Have a feeling this guy has a heroin addiction. Hopefully he can turn his life around after this. Vitaly is now raising money for the guy and already is up to 2,500.

The way Vitaly had physical contact (shook hands, hugged) with the guy was nice to see. I saw the Pope mention having physical contact with the homeless if you help them out---that it spreads good vibe/love between the people involved. Nice vid.

I think he is already making money from the # of views and subscribers. I read somewhere that once you reach a million views on videos, youtube starts sharing ad revenue with you. I maybe wrong about the # but I am sure he's making some money from his videos.

Speaking of giving money to homeless people, once a few years ago, met this cute chick in downtown Toronto begging people for money. Me and my buddies ignored her. A few minutes later, we're having a meal at the local Wendy's and this same chick is sitting on the table right next to us. We started chatting with her. She happens to be wild kid, who left her family from Montreal. Asked her how come she's begging money since she's bilingual, pretty and could easily find a job. Her answer floored us all: she said in a job in an office she would make about 100 bucks a day while begging money on the streets, she makes 200, even 300 a day.

Saw a documentary on tv about these professional beggars who come every morning in busy downtown areas, park their car, change their clothes from normal to those of a beggar, walk a couple of blocks to their "office". The film crew followed her for a few days until one day, they confronted her. Was pathetic to say the least. She was charged and the cops took her to the station.

This is not an isolated case. Apparently, there's a whole network of those. In some cases, they would get young girls, in their teens, give them a baby and then send them to work to beg money. It's really sad what some people would do.

However, for the real geniune homeless guys, the best thing to do is buy them food. Once I was having a meal at a food court during lunch time in downtown and saw this old man, obviously a homeless, going through the garbage. I couldn't take it, got up and bought him something to eat. The look on his face and the gratitude almost made me cry.

Helping someone in real need gives you the most intense feeling of pride, almost like a spiritual orgasm.

Yea there are a lot of fakers out there. I was on the TTC once going from Yonge to Kennedy. This group of Romanian lizards came on holding a sign with one bedraggled kid and saying "Please help me, I can't speak English"
Now Canada is not the wolf zone that the States is so I wasn't too convinced. I snubbed them and stuck my beak further into the book I was reading.
Upon disembark at Kennedy, the Romanian lizards conveyed with another group of beggars and actually coordinated with some some snazzy smartphones that were actually better than the shytty razor I was fuking with.

I'm usually less skeptical in third world countries cos you can see how fcuked up things are there...

Yea, Vacancier's story of the French lizard doesn't surprise me. You can make 19 bucks an hour in Toronto just off speaking French and English with basic customer service skills.
