Hi all,

I'm starting an eurotrip, have my route set up to Ljubljana.

I have read Ljubljana is pretty dead this time of the year as all university students are away, so I plan to just spend the night and move forward.

What I don't know is if I should go East (Hungary, Romania, Moldova...) or South (Serbia, Albania, Montenegro...)

What do you recommend? And which cities?

I have my own car so I have total freedom.

Since there is just one more week left of "summer", I would say go south to Croatia (or Montenegro) and hit one of the beach places for this last week, because after September 1, they will be pretty much done. Personally I would advise Hvar (the island off the coast from Split) since people here say Budva, Montenegro is not good anymore. Maybe Herceg Novi, Montenegro is a good 2nd choice?

You can do cities any time of the year and by mid september everybody will be recovered from vacation and ready to go out again.
