Yes, in my opinion.

Any guy saying they "enjoy" dates are liars. If you had the skills and power to skip dates and have a girl go straight to your place then no, you dont "enjoy" dates. You're tolerate them. Unless you're at a age in your life where you're looking to settle down then shove with the I enjoy dates bs. So cringe.

I "enjoy" dates because they allow me to screen a woman without having to bring them to my place. If I invited every girl I met to my place I'm sure it would have been burned down by now.

I would never have a first date at a restaurant. I invite them for something casual near my place. Going to a park to play with my dog costs me exactly $0.

And yes, no matter how hot she is if I don't know her that well I prefer to meet her in a place where I can leave if I want to.

This helps me screen for red flags, imagine I bring them to my place first and they start talking about "rape culture" or how they are actually married or how she thinks we are actually soulmates destined to be together. And if I'm meeting a girl from online I also want to make sure she is not fatter/uglier than her pictures.

What is the point of your post?

To call out BS and guys in denial.

But then again, don't care if you want to justify wasting your time. Plus, highly doubt you know how to efficiently work first dates at your place anyways.

The problem is that not all girls are the same. Is it a waste to go on a date if the girl is already DTF before you meet? Yes. In most cases you'd be just as successful inviting these girls to your home right away. However, not all girls are, and even if they are, some simply need more comfort before having sex, for example due to a lack of experience or their personality. Also, depending on your preferences you, like I do, might prefer girls who are not the type who'd come straight to your place for sex just because you are a decent looking guy.

A cheap date (which you hopefully enjoy yourself) is a much safer option and has the benefits of allowing you to screen and build excitement as well. You want to build tension both for you and for the girl. If you actually enjoy the date, which I tend to do (I generally only want to bang girls I would enjoy a date with), there isn't really an issue.
