Dramatic video footage has emerged of Polish football hooligans battling Mexican naval cadets on a Polish beach.

Trouble flared in the northern Polish town of Gdynia when around 300 supporters of the Ruch Chorzow football team clashed with 56 Mexican navy cadets from the Cuauhtemoc training ship who were onshore leave.

Polish Police have released security camera footage of the incident which shows the rival groups engaged in a violent brawl which saw chairs being hurled as stunned holidaymakers watch on.

The fight left two Poles and three of the Mexican cadets injured. Two of the sailors were taken to hospital in a serious condition, but have since recovered.


The Ruch Chorzow fans association claimed the fans had come to the aid of a woman who had been hit in the face by one of the cadets.

But after viewing the security footage and speaking to witnesses, Polish prosecutor Michal Niesiolowski concluded that the Poles were to blame.

He said: 'At the current level [of investigation], it has been established that the attackers were Polish citizens, and the injured party were Mexicans.'

Two Polish men have been charged with assault and another has been detained for questioning.

Poland's Foreign Ministry has expressed regret to Mexico over the incident which took place on Saturday, August 17.

If convicted, the two men could face up to three years in prison. One Pole remains hospitalized with minor injuries.

The prosecutor did not say how many people were involved, but Mexico's Foreign Relations Department has said that 300 Poles attacked 57 Mexican naval cadets. It says 17 Mexicans sustained injuries.

The Mexican cadets are on a training voyage aboard the sailing vessel Cuauhtemoc.

Mexico's president condemned the violence and summoned the country's ambassador.

He said in a statement: 'As a people and as a government we have to express our disapproval, sorrow and condemnation for these events.'

Only lies! There was only 130 Chorzow football supporters (not hooligans) and 56 Mexicans. The fight was between 30 Polish and 15 Mexicans. Before fight Mexicans behaved very bad. The were groping Polish women. The Polish football supporters started fight when one Mexican punched one Polish lady in face. Prosecutor said the Polish attacked, but the police press officer Mr. Mariusz Sokolowski said the Mexicans are blamed for starting the fight (after viewing CCTV). During the fight Mexicans used knives and broken bottles. And the most important thing is that the prosecutor as the court to send 3 of Polish football supporters to custody for 3 months, but the court have sent them free after bail of 1000 PLN (GBP 200) was paid. I Know all these thing because I was on that beach that afternoon. Thanks for reading and do not believe in lies!

I didn't even know Mexico even had soldiers. They probably keep them in other countries because Mexico is too dangerous.

considering the Mexicans regularly throw batteries and bags of feces and urine at the US soccer players when we play in the Azteca stadium there, and all the bad sh*t the cartels do I wouldn't be so quick to defend the Mexicans here. They certainly do seem to give as good as they get. But would assume some Don Juan was hitting on a Polish girl and things got out of hand? You know how girls love a man in uniform!!

On another note, sure seems like sailors/marines of all nations seem to get into epic battles with the natives no matter where their shore leave is...I would guess being stuck on a ship for weeks/months on end creates a ton of pent-up sexual aggression/frustration (and bad game?).

Mexicans aren't the type to be around when drunk. I know this because I am Mexican myself. However, Mexicans usually fight each other far worse than with foreigners.

I work out with Mexicans every week in the gym and they are much more polite than Americans. The polish men were probably just jealous.

People get jealous when men of different color hit on their women.... In my short 2 month experience in the Baltics the Hispanics absolutely tore it up.
