Here's a thought: Online dating is a numbers game, and openers are fairly generic. Can we outsource it on Elance or Odesk for very cheap, something like $2 per hour?

We could give the opener or the opener template to an offshore "personal assistant", tell him what type of girls you like, and have him blast out lots of girls using it, and maybe a couple of "next lines" to the most typical responses?

Each night, you'll still have to look through all your responses and see which girls responded past the pre-written scripts stage, however long or elaborate that may be. The results would be a list of girls that're already interested enough to respond to you, and maybe already 2-3 messages in. Obviously discard the girls you're not attracted to.

You may also require the personal assistant to keep a spreadsheet of how many Emails sent (easily verifiable by going to your sent messages), how many girls responded, how many responded after 2nd step, etc. You can fill out the rest of the spreadsheet for data keep purposes.

Questions:
1. Is this a pretty viable option? Where would this system fall apart, assuming the personal assistant is careful not blasting the same girl more than once?

2. What would a good opener be, that's generic enough that you can copy/paste and maybe replace a couple of words without too much English literacy, such as "I like that you enjoy ___", etc.

2b. What type of openers generate the same type of responses so you can have your 2nd line automated? Example opener: "I'd take your pic down". Typical response 1: "Why". Typical response 2: "Your pic sucks too"

This might be a good idea, I know I troll dateinasia, one thing is you'd have to teach the assistant what is pretty for you.

The vast majority of Filipinas only answer once and then flake, partially because I'm not there I'm sure. If you get someone to answer with longer responses you might be able to get some girls that are actaully organized enough to respond.

But it might even be better if you are there and you have the assistant act as your social secretary. Then when you call "because she's special" it will be a big deal.

It can work, it's just a matter of whom to outsource it to. No IRTs, females, or white knights.

I prefer to do it myself, it takes me about 30 minutes to source and email 25 girls on OKC and 30 minutes to spam on POF. There's a program that can automatically send emails for you.

What're IRTs?
I wouldn't outsource to any of those - they cost too much. I'm thinking of off-shore "personal assistants" who want your money and are willing to be very obedient. You can easily verify their work by checking the "Emails sent" list, and you can keep getting different ones until you find a personal assistant you like.

Imagine not having to worry about spending that hour spamming POF and OKC, on a daily basis, with 200 Emails instead of 25. I'd also love to hear about the automated programs that spam POF and OKC for you.

This is a prime business and research opportunity.

People would pay someone to trawl POF and OKC for me.
- give their general availability for the dates
- find the chicks
- send an opener
- do the flirting
- send the dates...

You raise an interesting point, that hour would be better earning money than spamming.

iknowexactly: I'd have my personal assistant Email girls that're local to me, from offshore. I know most desktop apps allow user to "search" based on different criteria including geo.

WestIndianArchie: I doubt average offshore PA's can flirt and get you a date pretending to be you. In my experiences, they're very good at following instructions, but not much else. Instructions also need to be very specific and leave as little to be interpreted as possible, almost like "requirement documents".

But that sounds like a good business idea: Having experienced guys spam and flirt for you.

Cattle: Why are guys on Elance bidding $1/hr bad choices? If you can check their work by seeing all your Emails sent, can't you just keep firing them until you find one that does good work for $1 per hour?

I wouldn't use offshore PA's or try to do it on the cheap.

As a business, i'd go bespoke. Hire some native English speakers, Americans, Canadians, whatever, and have them do everything.

I'd even hire women, provided that they could follow the script.

If you google this there is a service that does this. I have looked into this myself. But for the full-monty its like over 1k a month.

Anyone know of any pieces of software to run on OKC or POF or anything that would simulate activity, send out emails, etc.?

I agree that this can be outsourced -- at least just to get some back and fourth going on and then in the end you can actually log in to do the closing.

1K for that? Holy Moly, then again US agents are not cheap.

There was a PUA that had some some program that did it and he released it for people to use it, can't remember much about it. There were some posts on RVF talking about it.

Considering most don't even like to pay the membership fees I don't think it's feasible.

The only people who could work cheaply enough to make this possible would be from India and china and they might have even worse game then if you created some sort of AI spam bot.

I think maybe you could contract out to someone in Eastern Europe but their standards of living have gone up and that would still cost you a couple hundred a month instead of a thousand. Not much better.

The only way online dating make sense is if you have a job with lots of down time but you still have to be there on call like as a fire fighter? Otherwise you'd be better off learning new things like how to dance.

Tim Ferris did this. As I recall, he talks about it in David DeAngelo's "Interviews with Dating Gurus"

It worked! He got lots of dates out of it and it didn't cost very much to do. It is hilarious how he describes the messages that his Indian PA's sent to prospective dates! And how it actually did work!

Tried to get this going on taskrabbit.com last year.

Didn't work for me.

The people who wrote the openers for cheap enough couldn't deliver quality leads with any consistency.

The people who were smart and could write good openers wanted too much money for it to be a viable strategy long term.

Went back to doing it myself.

I was imagining going the cheap route outsourcing it to India or China. The problem is, you'll really have to write down the script, there should be VERY little left for interpretation. The opener may have some "variables" like [fill in hobby based on profile], but that's about it. If patterns arrive and 80% of the response are 3 different types, then you can give the personal assistant the correct 2nd script for each type of response. But tell him to not write anything if the response doesn't fit any of the 3.

But yes, you'll have to take over from there, I'm imagining having to log on once a day and reply to a few Emails. This isn't designed to get you dates while you do nothing. It's designed to generate leads that're already interested enough to respond. To me, the "blasting out 100 Emails and get 7 responses" was the biggest pain point, and hopefully this process will eliminate it for me.

It's hell on Match. I travel to Mexico often and it takes me to their mexican page....which does not recognize my user name. I have to guess and chick different links that will take me to their US log in page, most of time I'm redirected to their Mexican website again.
