My "shopping mall pickup" posts tend to be my least popular -- probably because malls ain't what they used to be.

But this worked really well when I was young so I thought I would drop some info for anyone under 26, esp. guys home from college sitting around bored. One of my all-time best "number close" nights was when I was 22 and hit two malls on Thanksgiving Eve. Colleges were closed for the holidays, girls were everywhere, and it was easy to meet them.

This is the opposite of the day game-shopping mall stuff I've written about on here. That's where you chat up hot salesbabes during slow mall times (after school and Monday nights). When the malls were packed Thanksgiving Eve, I found non-employee women to be more social and amenable to small talk.

This especially goes for when you have to stand in long lines. They're usually hell, but when they're filled with nice-looking women it's not so bad. Between the two malls I met one getting pretzels, another at a "Things Remembered" jewelry stand, and another buying CDs.* (These are the three I ended up going out with, but I may have number-closed more -- can't remember!)

Best of all was the day after Thanksgiving. I didn't have to even dial a number: they called me: "I'm off from school and home bored."

I can't do this anymore. When you get to your forties, the women are usually moms, or married, or whatever and it's trickier to meet them.

So all you young guys complaining about not having money on here should appreciate what you do have: your youth. Use it to your advantage. The girls aren't married yet, and since they're not hardened career bitches they don't expect you to have money and can enjoy simple things like sharing pretzels.

Appreciate this time, guys. You can always make money. I can't be 22 again.

*This one is too good not to tell. She was a hippie chick who was in a line in front of me and dropped her purse. I asked "Do you need help?" She said "no." I said "Do you need 'A Hard Day's Night' or 'Sgt. Pepper?'" It's a Beatles joke. She found it really funny. This was like 20 years ago, so you'd probably have to update the band if you want to use it.

Yes,

The Malls will be packed with girls today and all weekend. All the college girls are home or they didn't go home which means the are in their dorm room with nothing to do.

All college girls want to bang this week(end).

This post prompted me to go to the mall and number close tonight. Truer words never been spoken about the number of girls there pre-thanksgiving.

The girl I closed is a sweet blonde southern belle visiting her family for the holiday. She said she is here until Sunday.

I've never been crunched for time like this before to seal the deal. Hit her up tomorrow via text for drinks on Friday? She is 19 so drinks should have more pull than an of-age chick Im guessing.

I've been hearing this for awhile, apparently the night before Thanksgiving is the biggest drinking night of the year in the U.S.:

Cool, good job. Glad this thread was useful.

There is no exact plan to execute under time pressure except not appear too thirsty. Mine were both going to area colleges (I was in Baltimore where there are a bunch).

If you don't get to "seal the deal" in the next few days, keep the door open and hit her up again over winter break. I remember once meeting a girl at a mall in the summer, checking in with her for months when she still had a b/f and finally in spring we went out when she was single. If you have several plates spinning, a few delays don't matter, or may even work out better if you hit a dry spell come winter.

Biggest thing I noticed Wednesday night was that, with the 25 and under crowd, it's more cliquey than ever, and social circles are of more importance. Even people who went off to college are still involved in the same high school bullshit. When I went to college it was like starting a new life (back in 2000). People hang on to groups longer it seems like. Perhaps younger guys could verify this. It's just what I noticed as an outsider.

I went to a few malls the day before Thanksgiving, sadly, they were a little slow in terms of cute, approachable girls. I pussed out on a few that I could have done.

About an hour before sunset, I decided to head to the dorms of a local university. I know there are a lot of girls who did not go home for Thanksgiving. It was dead. A lot of girls were catching up on their sleep.

As I was leaving, I noticed that the library was open. I immediately parked my car and headed in. It wasn't crowded but there were a few girls there. I calculated who was approachable. I was looking for girls who are lonely on Thanksgiving. Away from home, no school, roommates are gone, all alone in the big city. This is a good time to start a winter romance.

After about 10 minutes of walking around and sizing up my options, I see a cute girl who I approached last year

Last year, we texted and talked a few times and even hung out and had lunch at school.

Then, one day at school when we were sitting on a bench, I aggressively went for the make out. She pulled away and suggested that I was a little over eager, which I probably was.

Anyways, I see her leaving the library two days ago. She is behind me. I stop and say -- "Is that the best dressed girl on campus"

She dresses very nice.

She says "Oh hey"

me: hey how have you been?
her: i been great, you?
me: I'm trying to think of your name?
her: I'm trying to think of yours
me: its starts with a G
her: ummmm
me: Gio
her: oh ya gio, i remember now
me: how is school going?
her: moving along, how bout you?
me: I finished my masters and im starting my phd
her: oh wow thats so cool, psychology right
me: yeah you remember, you study fashion right?
her: lol, no my major is biology.
me: biology! you love fashion, you should go into the fashion world.
her: lol, omg, well, i have been thinking about that..

Blah, blah, blah..

We walk and talk for a few minutes.

me: Do you still commute from the east bay?
her: ya
me: on bart?
her: yes
me: is that where your headed now, to the bart station?
her: yeah, well, there is no shuttle today because school is out so i will take the bus
me: oh, im going that way if you want a ride, i live right by the bart station.
her: oh thanks but thats ok. where are you parked? I'll walk you to your car if you want.
me: ok

We walk to my car. I try to be as light hearted and funny as possible.

We get to my car and I open the passenger side for her. I don't ask her anything. She gets in.

I quickly tell her that I bought a new condo. I ask if she wants to come by and check out my condo and maybe get something to eat.

She says she can hang out for an hour.

We go to my condo. I put on the radio and she asks me why I don't put on salsa music since I'm Latino. I agree and put it on.

She asks me to show her my dance moves. Things are getting a bit seductive. I do a few steps for her and then I grab her and begin to lead her through some salsa steps. (I don't know salsa but I tried to wing it)

We danced for a few minutes and then I went in for the makeout. She pulled away and said -- "what are you doing" in a low, feminine voice which let me know that she didn't really have a big problem with it.

I pulled away from her lips but I kept my hands on her and continued dancing. I spun her so her back was to me and started kissing her neck. She didn't resist this time. I pushed her gently against the wall and started kissing her. We made out and felt on each others body for a while and I tried to take her clothes off but she wouldn't budge.

After a while, she said she better get going so I took her to the train station.

She kept saying -- "Latin boys are so passionate"

I said -- "Your dammed right, without passion, life is boring"

We made out again and then she got on the train.

20 years old. Never asked about my age.

Hopefully, she will come over again soon.

They want a holiday romance!

After lunch, I'm going to a mall that is right next to university!

This is somewhat true - I think its due to the widespread use of social media and texting. It is much easier to stay in touch with your friends now.

I'll verify it. I should have factored this into my original post. I've seen this is real life and on Facebook. I think it's also one reason we get 30-year-olds who seem frozen at 18. You need to meet new people at college and after, otherwise you get frozen into immaturity. None of this makes it simple to game women in open spaces.

Taking that into account and the fact that girls are glued to their dumbphones, maybe I had it easier years ago when women seemed more like "free agents" not plugged-in drones of corporations.
