Fortified milk drinks.

Several brands have flavored milk fortified with protein. Typically they are 20g of protein and 300 Cal in 12 oz of drink. They taste much better than any powder.

I get pure whey protein isolate for $10-11 a pound, with 28 grams of protein in a 30 gram serving.

personally I like casein, it fills you up, I drink it for breakfast and easily last till lunch

They taste better because they are mixed with milk and sugar. Whey protein is just straight whey, virtually no fat or sugar.



Even their "Lean Builder" has 4.5 grams fat and 12 carbs (6 from sugar) with only 20 grams of protein.

Compare that to one scoop of ON Whey at 1 gram of fat, 3 grams of carbs (one of sugar), and 24 grams of protein.



Not saying these are bad, but there's a very obvious reason as to why they taste better.

10lb ON Whey is $105 and 149 servings at 24 grams protein per serving.

Or you could just go vegtable protein. Warrior Blend is great.

I get these also - some of them have 30g of protein. Can be bought for $1 at my local grocery store or target, etc. Dont know if they are really a cheaper alternative but they are certainly easier then having to make a shake and taste better then most shakes I've had.
