I don't think it isn't necessarily out of mere compliance like a horse who wears blinders. It has more to do with cowardly nature of people. There are enough modern people who are intelligent to see through this bullshit. People are afraid to stick out their necks in the name of money and security.

Teaching talent is easy. Creating an environment of incentives is easy. Creating people of virtue is hard.

All true...but it's even worse than you realize.

"Consent" is going to be the basis for the cultural ratification of pedophilia, coming down the pike in the next decade or so. Radical progressives have already reverse engineered things to enable very young children to "consent" to transitioning. It's going to be impossible to continue to maintain the fiction that pre-teens can consent to genital surgeries and hormonal treatments to modify their sex...but cannot consent to the sex act itself.

Once you cross that rubicon, you make way for the next horror to unfold: for disturbed and mentally-ill children themselves to push for the normalization pedophilia, egged on by trans activists, boy lovers and the culture at-large. You'll turn on the evenings news and be subjected to heart-wrenching stories of 15-year olds desperately in love with the older men that "society" says they can't have. Then the stories will be about 12-year olds. Then 10...9...7...etc. Besides, the kids will argue, you have to be 18 to vote but 21 to drink so consent is just a totally arbitrary number anyhow.

Not only are "consent" ethics totally inadequate to stop this coming savagery, they will be vehicle through which this evil finally triumphs. The state has already used consent ethics to disrupt & destroy the most elemental relationships in society--that of Men and Women--and it is now poised to do the same to Parent and Child. Abetted by a degenerate culture.
