150 more lbs, and she can stop finding love in herself and find love from someone else. Awesome video. Tempted to share on my Facebook.

She was over 300 pounds...obviously she's not going to be skinny after 100 days.

Good for her. I respect her that she is changing her lifestyle and improving herself. Hopefully she continues.

She genuinely seems like a nice person. I'm happy for her. Too bad the feminists will probably label this as fat shaming instead of inspiration for self improvement.

Yeah, any fattie who is sincerely trying to lose weight, I don't think of as fat in the same was as Lindy West. And yes, she seems like basically a very sweet person. She said nothing about her diet, but that's where she really needs to focus. She could have lost a ton of weight on strict diet and walking alone. Anyway, good for her.

I paused about 30 seconds in to make this comment... I never understand why there are obese people at the gym on machines, doing crunches and all these other exercises. Based off my experience, if you're overweight, you shouldn't see the inside of a gym until you're at least at a healthy BMI or other indicator of good health. Run, run, run, run, run, run, run. Start with walking every day, then jog, then run. Can't see why they can't get this through their thick (heh) skulls.

Also I don't know if anyone else noticed... but she's still fat. Sorry, you shouldn't be able to get pats on the back until you're actually not obese.

It's called positive reinforcement.

She's trying and has lost quite a lot so far.

Why slam someone that is making progress towards her goal?

I agree to an extent except that they should be running. Running at their weight will blow out their knees and hips.

But they should definitely be doing cardio more than resistance training. I see it all the time at my gym too. I see fat girls doing curls, for god knows what reason. I like keeping a positive mindset at the gym and remind myself that no matter how retarded people work out, at least they're at the gym making an attempt. But it is painful watching people exercise completely ineffectively.

Any obese person should be on a regularly changing cardio routine, switching from eliptical, spinning, stairmaster, aerobics, etc. Once they get a basic level of fitness and can exercise without having a heart attack or getting winded then switch to HIIT.

I see better weight loss through lifting and proper diet than cardio and proper diet. Granted, if you are obese, cardio probably couldn't hurt. But she shouldn't be barred from lifting in a gym.

I only slam her because a video like this should be made when the final results are in. It seems like she wants to cash in a bit too early and rest on the little amount of work she's actually done. Hell, she's gotten so much praise, and there are still some animals of my race that would bang the shit out of her, she can quit right now if she wanted to.

While I don't doubt it, I see the mindset of a lot of fat guys heading into the gym for the first time being "I'm gonna come here every day and be so jacked and skinny". Yeah, it's possible to lose weight and gain muscle, but I don't see a lot of obese guys sticking with that kind of intensity for long enough to actually see results. For me, I was about 240 in August of 2012. I ran every day, saw results (people complimenting me, clothes size decreasing, poundage going down) and lost about 40 lbs. Then, in the summer of 2013, I started going to the gym, and the results came in fast, and that motivated me to keep going. I just think that trainers and stuff give these overweight people coming into gyms this dream idea of what's possible if they keep up with this really intense program, but the fact is that usually, they can't, and the call of peanut butter ho-hos or whatever ends up being too loud.

Over summer, there would always be these extremely fat girls. Being there every day at around the same time, I would masses of them come in. They'd be there every day for a couple of days doing the nonsense curls and other resistance stuff for 30 minutes, then walk on the treadmill and go home. Then they'd be gone for a couple of weeks. I guess it really doesn't matter what you do, it's more about how you do it.

I disagree. Along with thedude's point about how brutal running would be for an obese person's joints, cardio by itself is not that great for an obese person (or anybody for that matter). Sure, it will burn calories, but it's also producing cortisol. Lifting will help neutralize that.

For an obese person, diet is the most important thing. Followed by lifting (and that means real exertion, not 10 curls of the 5lb dumbbells), followed by cardio.

I agree with all the guys saying good for her.

She is working at it - she doesn't seem like a bitch, actually a fairly nice person.

Maybe there can be a debate about the right approach, but she is making progress and results. As the progress slows, she may look into changing her routine. She is better than the 99% (or whatever the stat is) of the people who never go to a gym or exercise.

I know I enjoy hating on dumb/entitled chicks, but I can't hate on anyone that is trying and shows some dedication.

I was talking about this video with another member, if you saw this on her youtube page, you'd know she's currently unemployed and this video was partly made to help her in her job search, not that that's a bad thing.

Hopefully she can keep it up when she does find work and subsequently has less free time on her hands.

This would make me want to employ her; she's not just sitting around doing nothing or complaining about the white man/patriarchy/corporations but she started with HERSELF.

That should be the big take-a-way.
