I've been calling women to comfort them via my voice and sometimes they would put me on hold. I have no problem holding for a moment or two.Sometimes I hang up when they take an unreasonable amount of time to return to the phone, then they don't return my call afterward. I've experimented with shooting them a text saying i had to take a call on the other line (bullshit of course), in the slight case an emergency happened on her end. Waiting a few minutes for them to return while on hold is needy. Next them? What to do vets? Get them out on a date ASAP to avoid all of this?

If you prefer calling girls to set up dates rather than texting, what usually works for me is shooting them a brief text, and calling them shortly after they respond. The fact that they responded to your text assures they're near their phone.
In this day and age a lot of girls won't pickup if you just call them out of the blue. I would immediately hang up if a girl is putting me on hold, maybe text her to call you back. She can just let it go to voicemail if she's busy...

I hang up immediately. There's nothing more important than me.
Depends on the situation.
If she's driving then maybe 10 seconds, BUT,
I would say "gotta run".
If she's in 'normal' settings, such as her house, hang up even if she says hang on a second.
If she's not calling you back it's a ruse in Womanese that she's not into you.

i hang up on my mom if she puts me on hold
A few minutes or so - if I'm alone I usually put the phone on speaker so I can hear when the hold ends and go do something else while my hands are free.
This shit is basically 'hold my handbag'.
I just say I'm busy doing shit and to call me back when she has time to talk.
If it's a shit test, she can see I'm not at her beck and call.
If it's a lack of interest, then she won't call back, and can't waste any more of my time.
