Hello,

I wanted to find out your views, stories and experiences on solo travel. Gaming and non gaming of course.

I ask because I have some trips lined up with my wing (best friend) but also have been thinking of hitting some places solo.

Solo travel is depressive but i don't come across any problem regarding gaming. It just like going solo locally.

My short answer is do it. Around half of my travels were solo, and I really enjoyed it.

If you're a social person, you'll find that you meet more people solo, and can DEFINITELY get a bang. 100 percent do it. Gaming and traveling solo is one of those things I think every man should do.

I'm pretty introverted but I've done a lot of solo travel. I'm all for a trip with friends because there's a vibe there that can't be replicated solo but at the same time, I've had some of my best bangs traveling alone. There's also the added bonus of doing everything on your own schedule. There's no need to wait for other people to get ready or take a vote on where to go or what to do. Choose your own adventure.

Planning on rolling solo dolo this summer.

It's always funny when people start asking about your plans and you tell them where you're going and then they ask who you are going with.

The look of shock on their faces when you say you're going solo is just satisfying. They don't know how to react.

Traveling solo is nice because you can do whatever you want. When you travel with groups, typically you all agree on what you're going to do. I'm doing my first trip with American friends out of the country this May. While I'm stoked on it and know it's going to be awesome because it's with close friends, I'd rather go somewhere else in the DR other than Punta Cana, but that's where everyone wants to go. They look at it as a beach vacation. They give 0 shits about getting to know the place. Luckily I have some free time before so I'll be checking out some other spots in the DR before I meet up with those guys.

I think traveling solo also builds character and teaches you a lot.

I used to be afraid of traveling solo and spent too much time traveling with the kind of people who had different goals and were too different from me to begin with. Looking back, some of my trips would have been better had I traveled solo. Now, I travel solo most of the time and meet new people (most of them girls) while traveling. This is the best way to get to know the country.

I've always been surprised that people find it strange to travel solo.

It has been normal for me for as long as I can remember. I did my first solo trip when I was 18 or 19 and haven't looked back since.

With that said I still find night game easier when you are with a friend. Simply because it makes the new place you are venturing to more comfortable. It also cuts down on table costs, taxi, rental etc.

I remember being somewhat nervous my first time doing it. After that it has been a cakewalk. I won't lie though everytime I go to a new city I still get some butterflies in my stomach. But usually that's from the lust for my new adventure.

i would say more of my travel has been solo than with friends or gf's. its always so hard getting people with simlar travel interests as well as similar time off work.

i actually like solo travel. yeah at times some things are cooler to do with someone else but solo travel you get to do what you want when you want, go see what you want, dont have to compromise your plans for what others want to do. you can get up when you want go to sleep when you want, eat where and when you want.

also forces you to get out of your comfort zone and meet new people, sometimes with friends or a gf you tend to stick to yourselves, alone you got no choice but to interact with people plus i generally wind up meetin some other cool solo traveler who wants to split a driver for a day or something like that.

i used to do quite a bit of traveling to jamaica and there's a surprsiing number of solo european chicks traveling staying at the budget places for a few weeks or a month.

also girls often travel in pairs so ive had a few girls invite me over to eat with tehm and stuff at dinner if im eating alone. strike up a convo, eat dinner together have a few drinks go to see some music or dance or something actually works out quite nice.

my biggest fear solo traveling has always been losing my passport and all my shit and being all alone in a terrible situation vs having a friend along but so far been lucky nothing to speak of

I've traveled extensively both solo and with friends. I think everyone agrees that traveling in general has ups and downs: there are days when you feel like you can take on and master the world, when you can befriend anyone and chat up any girl. These are times when I LOVE traveling solo.

There are also days where you feel completely burned out, you don't feel like having an inane conversation about "where you were and where you're going next" and all you want to do is fart and belch in the company of someone who knows you well enough not to care. These are days when I prefer traveling with a good friend.

Right now I tend more towards meeting / traveling with friends, but I may sway back the other way in the future.

I remember the worst times of my childhood:

I'd REALLY want to do something, but my friends would never share my enthusiasm:

"Let's go camp on that hill tonight and drink!"
"Nah, it's not the done thing"

"Let's go to Rock Am Ring in Germany!"
"Nah, it's not the done thing"

"Let's go to Amsterdam THIS weekend"
"Nah, it's not the done thing"

"Let's go on a Euro trip"
"Nah, it's not the done thing"

And then the one that happened almost weekly:

"Let's go out tonight!"
"Nah, it's not the done thing"

I do so much more shit now I've cut out the middle-man!

I've done most different styles of traveling: solo, with 1 close friend, with a group of friends, with a girl, and with family. Every way is fun, but I find that I'm most adventurous and get laid the most when I'm solo. There's something extremely rewarding about showing up in a new country by yourself, going out by yourself, and smashing some local pussy. Traveling solo is the best.

Traveling with a group of friends is awesome too. The most fun weekend of my life was when I went to Iceland with a group of 6 close friends. What a shit show that was..

Traveling with a girl is fun. I did that for 2.5 months several years back. We had a LOT of sex, and went to places that I wouldn't go to by myself. Certain places, like the country side of Myanmar, are kind of boring if you go by yourself. You have almost 0% chance of getting laid in certain places. But if you go to remote places with a girl it's awesome. You can explore untouched areas and smash some pussy after a long day of exploring.

Traveling with 1 friend is cool, but nowhere as fun as with a group of friends or as enriching as traveling solo. I'm a pretty introverted guy and don't like most people, so I don't mind traveling solo.

Thanks for the advice guys. I was hesitant at the start but I think I'm just going to hit somewhere up in europe solo and see how it goes. Pipeline before I leave so I have some company.

Travelling solo, the highs will be higher, and the lows will be lower.

I have had some bad experiences while travelling solo, e.g., losing my passport for a few hours, having my luggage lost for days (with all my clothes in it) by some incompetent airport employees, and suffering a mugging attempt in a country where I had no clue of the local language. These can be stressful situations when you have nobody to watch your back or even talk to, but when you're able to deal with that shit by yourself, you mature a lot as a person.

Advantages of travelling solo are 1-sticking to your plans, 2-staying by your original budget, and 3-feeling adventurous. And while I agree that travelling with a group of friends is usually a lot more fun, it won't develop your character nearly as much.
