I can think of a few reasons:

-Often times talk of P4P derails a thread and instead of talking about the thread topic it turns into a discussion of P4P while the original topic dies.

-P4P talk attracts a lot of losers and bad hombres. Enough of them would greatly negatively affect the high quality of this community.

-Rarely but often enough talk of P4P leads to talk of young girls and questionably legal discussions.

-P4P is somewhat of an antithesis of improving game and self-improvement.

-P4P talk makes this site a bigger and easier target to those that seek to bring it down.
