Starting a bitcoin exchange in a foreign country
At bitcoin is was originally an english language thing catching on first obviously in UK, US, Oz, NZ and Canada this raises an obvious question.

What about setting up a bitcoin exchange in a nice exotic foreign country as a way to make a living online.

I am in Mexico now and I would not like to do it here even though I speak fluent spanish because I can see how the narco trafficantes would get involved and I don't want to be dealing with that.

How about Argentina? How about one of the nice Caribbean countries?

How about somewhere in SE asia? Or Africa?

Africa are actually way ahead in using SMS micropayments in fiat countries so could be a good option.

Thoughts?

PS it does not have to be an exchange in the mt.gox sense of the word, it could just be a marketplace where buyers and sellers can find each other (kinda like ebay) and were a small percentage of transactions is taken.

RE: Starting a bitcoin exchange in a foreign country
When Bitcoins go up they make money, when Bitcoins go down they make money, "they" being the exchanges.*

If you can find a market where you think it can work and external forces (ex: narcos) will not be a problem then it is a good idea.

*As long as they haven't been hacked.
