This is a truly sad story. If it's found out later that the daughter lied she should be prosecuted for his death.

A spokesperson for the Harris County Sheriff's office said Deputy constables from pct 4 responded to a 911 call around 2:20 a.m. about a shooting in the Bridgestone Lake Subdivision in Northwest Harris County.

Police tell FOX 26 reporter John Donnelly that the father was notified that there was someone in his daughter's bedroom by one of his other children.

The father then went into the girl's bedroom and discovered the 17 year old male in bed with his 16 year old daughter. The daughter denied knowing who the boy was.

A confrontation between the father and boy started. The boy apparently wasn't listening to the father's commands and reached for something. It ended with 17 year old being shot and killed at the scene.

The 16 year old girl later admitted to investigators that she did know the boy and had let him into the home.

The father's was taken by ambulance from the home for treatment of an unrelated medical situation.

So far no arrests have been made.

In other words, she did lie. He died for nothing. She's as responsible for his death as is her father.

I can understand parents getting angry at transgressions like this, but this happened to me twice and luckily I lived to tell. Both times I got a stern talking to from the girls' moms -- and my own mom, who one of them called (to her credit, my mother seemed more bemused than angry).

Teenagers aren't adults. They do stupid shit. They're supposed to do stupid shit. Watch any teen movie. Tune into any sitcom from "The Donna Reed Show" to "The Middle." A society that doesn't give its teens room to make mistakes is a society in its death throes.

The only person in the wrong here is the daughter for lying about the situation. Can't blame the father for killing the kid, and you can't blame the kid for trying to get it in. About the only thing that changes if the girl tells the truth is the shotgun is used as persuasion to marry her off instead of killing, unless he runs of course.

Sure, this type of situation has happened before. It's related to how we got the term "shotgun wedding."

But society was different and "the frame" for him to do this wasn't in place before. That frame is the one that says men are all evil and women are special snowflakes. It came from the feminism of the 1960s and has filtered down through the school system and the TV and movies. The media has made parents paranoid about an endless parade of kidnappers, predators, and human traffickers that don't exist to the extent they'd have you believe.

So in 1955, this guy might have stopped and said "OK, son, what's your real business?" in 2014, he's shot on sight. On top of that, years ago the dad probably would have called his daughter on bullshit. Now he doesn't, because as we all know "What reason would a rape victim have to lie?" And finally, she has all the incentive in the world to lie, because she won't be in much trouble for it.

So...in conclusion, while dads have gotten mad at this stuff since the dawn of civilization -- and for good reason -- the feminist memes and media scare tactics influenced the way this went down.

If your daughter sleeps around, it's either a failure on your part as a father, or a failure on her part for not listening to you. Though, I do sympathize with the difficulty of trying to raise a good girl in this environment.

The daughter should be burned at the stake for obvious reasons. The dude who fucked the daughter didn't listen to the man with the gun. Bad move. The father is faultless. If I had a gun pointed at a guy who I thought had raped my daughter and he made moves while ignoring what I said I would put buckshot in him. No question.
