Books That Liberals, Feminists, and LGBTs Would Ban
In a worst case scenario, Western society will become so overrun with political correctness that books deemed "offensive" by some political factions will be banned, and those of us who own these books will be blacklisted.
We can only hope something like this never happens, but after seeing people like Stephen Colbert and Brandon Eich get chastised for being "offensive", a totalitarian Leftist takeover is becoming an unfortunate possibility.
Which book would you want to protect from a liberal / feminist / LGBT ban?

RE: Books That Liberals, Feminists, and LGBTs Would Ban
Coloured people don't like Little Black Sambo. Burn it. White people don't feel good about Uncle Tom's Cabin. Burn it. Someone's written a book on tobacco and cancer of the lungs? The cigarette people are weeping? Burn the book. - Fahrenheit 451
That being said, I'm less worried about feminists banning books then making them irrelevant. Nothing angers a feminist more than a syllabus full of white, male authors. Started in the 80s and 90s - the canon wars (http://www.insidehighered.com/blogs/conf...non-wars). The affects are far from trickling down at the moment but slowly and surely the great works of literature are going to be replaced in order to meet vague diversity quotas.
That isn't even the worst of it. Like in the case of the recent feminist rewrite of wikipedia, womyn are also perverting the classics left and right. You know shit's getting bad when William Carlos Williams' poem "This Is Just to Say" (http://www.poets.org/viewmedia.php/prmMID/15535) has been interpreted (with a straight face) as Williams confessing to both cheating on his wife and his continuing intention to do so. The biggest cunt of them all is Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick. She thinks Jane Austen novels are about female masturbation and that any time two men are competing for the same woman they're gay for each other.
Wish I was kidding...

I've noticed some of this. Feminists, like most women, attack by shaming and discrediting their targets. There was an academic paper released last year on the brain connectivity differences between men and women, and within a week countless articles popped trying to discredit or divert attention from that research.
Academic textbooks and papers critical of LGBTs are becoming increasingly difficult to come by because they've been very effective at shutting down any research in this field. If anyone dared to release a book like the ones listed above, LGBTs would rally together, protest the book as "hate speech", protest the authors as "bigoted", and then go after the school or publisher.
Feminists and LGBTs would rather remain ignorant about their biology, and white knight liberals are helping to protect them from the "triggers" of reality.

They can go ahead and try to reinterpret these books in their echo chamber. As long as some of us hold an archive of the original versions of these works, and challenge the bastardized interpretations they try to push into the mainstream, they'll remain safe for future generations.

Wait, what about music feminists would ban? Several universities in England banned "Blurred Lines" from being played on campus because it allegedly encouraged "rapey" behavior.
I wanted to throw in an old do wop tune I discovered (#41 in 1961) that has a chorus sure to infuriate any feminist: "No no no means yes! yes! yes!" I give you The Chanters:

The pseudo-intellectualism with these people is strong...

Hahaha! But they're black so it's okay because they didn't know any better. This is why the blatant "misogyny" in rap music today gets a free pass.

The works of Arthur Schopenhauer, especially his essay Of Women, would probably be outlawed.
Here's an excerpt:
Quote:That woman is by nature meant to obey may be seen by the fact that every woman who is placed in the unnatural position of complete independence, immediately attaches herself to some man, by whom she allows herself to be guided and ruled. It is because she needs a lord and master. If she is young, it will be a lover; if she is old, a priest.
And Friedrich Nietzsche would likely be banned for ripping white knights and women new assholes. A notable example of this can be found in his work Beyond Good and Evil.
Quote:Certainly, there are enough of idiotic friends and corrupters of woman among the learned asses of the masculine sex, who advise woman to defeminize herself in this manner, and to imitate all the stupidities from which "man" in Europe, European "manliness," suffers,—who would like to lower woman to "general culture," indeed even to newspaper reading and meddling with politics.
RE: Books That Liberals, Feminists, and LGBTs Would Ban
Actually, I don't think they want to ban books. They just don't want you talking about it and implement policies that hurt their policies, so they shout you down to encourage others to back down/lay low.
Take Gregory Clark's new book "The Son Also Rises"; that's exactly the kind of book liberals hate, because its conclusions point to social mobility being extremely low, just cutting short of Calvinist predestination theology. Clark's book both refutes the idea of creating huge liberal programs to increase social mobility and the moral case for libertarian-ish winner-take-all idolization. Liberals will be mad at Clark for refuting the former, he'll be free to argue for the latter.
That's the way of the world, folks.
