RE: interesting article on nationalism
Nationalism is the source of the greatest threat to the modern progressive state and super-state (eg the EU) today. But, in another era, it's not hard to imagine the opposite being the case as it was yesterday, if only because progressivism is the dominant ethos today.
The true antitheses of concentration of power in the state, is quite simply, decentralization. This can take many forms, such as libertarianism, anarchy, or distributism. Without a centralized, imperious authority to impose order from on high, doctrines that don't accord with and complement human nature will be discarded. I speak of course of progressivism. Progressivism is unnatural, and thus requires the state to continually prop it up. People, left to their own devices without the cudgel of the state to back it, would not nearly be so leftist.

But what is the solution then? Is everything just a cycle, going back and forth between order and disorder?

There are no solutions so long as humans are running the show. The dark triad will always reign over everyone and women/men will push people exhibiting these traits to positions of power thus continuing the cycle.
Beyond malevolent dictators which only last as long as the king is alive, there isn't much we can do.

That hits home. Looking at history, it seems that there is a clear pattern of malevolent dictators. There is one ring to rule them all, one sperm to fertilize the egg and one always on the top. It seems, there is no escape.
But that is weird, to know this. It makes me careful of people. And of their motives. Its a very negative view of human evolution, but not wrong at all.
But what if people get aware of this pattern? Can they then just "stop", to maintain an "equilibrium"? And what about all the people who say the want to produce good things for all people? Even RooshV says he is trying to help.
But, in the end that is just maybe how the cycle goes. It has its uses. Only the strong, able and healthy survive. That makes then much more sense.
Who else would need to run the show? A supercomputer? A perfect human?
